We love Village Inn and usually have a very good experience there, but tonight was meh. I was so looking forward to trying a savory crepe. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu; it had such great potential but was barely satisfactory. The filling and the cheese sauce were only lukewarm, with the chill barely taken out of it. Hash browns were perfect but the sausages were overcooked. I did eat one crepe and brought the other home to eat warm tomorrow, although I’m not sure how well crepes reheat. We will definitely be back because we genuinely like Village Inn, but I won’t be ordering this again.

Let me start off with the good. We were seated immediately on Saturday around 11 am. Our waitress, Nya was so nice. She answered all our questions, helped with menu decisions and really made the whole experience very pleasant.
The food. Meh. It was fine. Not great. Not terrible. It was pretty average breakfast food. The coffee was not good, over the top sugar/syrup flavor.
The atmosphere. It was fine. They have really cleaned the place up and remodeled to make it feel more like a sleek coffee shop that serves breakfast.
Would I come back? Sure. Will I crave it? Doubtful.

The staff are amazing and so kind. Our wait looked like it would be long but wasn’t more than 10 minutes. The breakfast sandwhich was good but potatoes I would pass. They had lots of options for pie but I did not get to try one. Honestly can wait to go back an eat again.

food was excellent! service was somewhat slow but our waiter was very friendly and helpful. a group of 20+ men seemingly just off of a construction site came in, and were seated right next to us, they had to push the tables together like it was the last supper, and they were very loud and annoying–but, we asked our server to move down a few booths and they immediately accommodated that request

Normally when I go to Village Inn I have excellent service and the food is wonderful. Today my husband and I went for a late lunch, I was extremely disappointed. After we were sat, we waited 20 mins before we were even acknowledged. Our waitress didn’t even introduce herself. She took our drink orders then waiting another 10 mins for our drinks to come and for her to take our order, we got our food and I was saddened. My husband and I both had to send back our bacon due to not being cooked all the way. It took them like 10-15 mins just to get us our bacon back. Our server wasn’t even the one who brought us our bacon back. My husband was getting ready to put my bacon back on my plate and noticed that there was hair on it. Asked to speak to a manager and they took care of us but I am just so extremely disappointed because that is not the service I am used to there. I was looking around and noticed that the normal crew that works there was not there today. So I am chalking it up to the normal crew wasn’t there nor was the regular manager so maybe no one felt motivated enough to give great service. Hopefully the next time I go the regular crew will be working and I will not be disappointed.

This is our after church regular restaurant that we go to a sunday.I hold it in high regards. The food is really good. A short waiting list on Sundays . The friendly staff is worth the wait. The prices are medium priced compared to the other restaurants in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. The restaurant is very clean. Coffee is excellent

Stopped in Saturday 1030a with my wife and 2 kids. The place was very busy. We had tickets at a nearby movie theater for 1130a.
They did a good job… got us in and out. I had a turkey club sandwich with side salad. One of my kids had Mac n cheese with hashbrowns. My wife and younger daughter split country fried steak breakfast with eggs and pancakes.
The food was good. The speed of service was great considering how busy they were and our time schedule. The staff were polite and professional. The price was more than reasonable. Overall a great experience. Good job Village Inn.

My overall experience was not good at all. There was a waiting list which was fine. Was told it’d be 5-10 min wait no big deal. Our 5-10 min wait turned in to a 30 min wait. My husband finally went up to sl where we were at on the waiting list because people that came in after is were being seated. Well somehow our name has gotten skipped and he already removed the sheet with our name on it off the clipboard. So finally got seated and took awhile for us to get our order taken because no server was helping us. Finally got our order in and got our food and I didn’t get the strawberries on top of my pancakes I ordered. By then I was frustrated that I didn’t say anything. It’s hard to say something though when your server NEVER once comes back to check on you till you’re all done eating. Then was told we’d pay at the table. Never did get a ticket though. Told my husband before he pays make sure we weren’t charged for the strawberries which we were. So had her take those off of our ticket. I seriously don’t know how they are rated as high as they are. I don’t know if I’ll ever be back with the service we had today

The upgraded atmosphere was welcoming. Our server was quick and efficient. The hashbrowns were a bit overcooked and not what I was hoping for. Hashbrowns and pancakes from VI are the best things I look forward to and they didn’t hit the spot today. The chicken fried steak was good, but I feel like it looked smaller than it did in the past. Our other order was the smother burrito with pork rated a 7/10. Village Inn menu items have always had a nostalgia for me, so some of the menu changes are just too much for me.
