I’ve visited this Village Inn several times, and while the service has always been okay and the food okay, my most recent visit left me genuinely disappointed. They’ve now added a mandatory 18% service fee to the bill — with no explanation, no signage, and no heads-up from the host or server.

What makes this even more frustrating is that the fee is added automatically, yet when you go to pay, the system still prompts you to leave an additional tip. If you’re not paying close attention, you could easily end up tipping twice. Guests deserve transparency, and we should have the choice to tip based on the service we receive, not be surprised by a hidden charge.

I hope they reconsider how this is communicated, because unexpected fees like this take away from what could otherwise be a simple, decent dining experience.

Stopped in to grab breakfast. Chose the breakfast burrito. It was huge! I’ll have the second half for dinner! Service was great, and the restaurant and restroom was very clean. A+
I’m not a fan of the 18% surcharge for a tip, but they do tell you up front.

Very nice restaurant for breakfast and lunch. They have a great kids menu. My son loved his mini pancakes. Very big servings. Our server was very professional and he knew a lot about the menu. We will be back soon

Our first time in, and it was a great experience.
Carson really did such a great job for us, really a great server. Was very clear as we sat down about the 18% gratuity, so we weren’t caught off guard.
We had the fish fry, and it was great. The chef is pretty darn amazing, the fish was hot and not greasy. The fries were very good. I even enjoyed the coleslaw, it had the perfect amount of dressing. I didn’t need to drain if off!
Definitely will be back.

Disguising the mandatory tip as a service fee means the tip is also taxed; therefore you pay an extra % on your total bill. Tips should not be taxed! Also, one item we ordered was priced higher on the bill than it was on the menu. The server explained they recently changed some of the prices but didn’t update the actual menus. I’m not okay with these practices and will never go to another Village Inn. The food was fine.

Just ate at the new Village Inn. Wow is the only word to describe it. Decor is as fresh as the food. Service friendly and fast. Just wow. Private dining for large groups is a plus! Full bar with happy hour daily from 3pm-6pm. Kids eat free on Monday and Tuesday. Free slice of pie with adult entree purchase on Wednesday. Bingo on Thursday at 5:30pm so much fun!

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a village inn, the food was so fresh i had to blow on it to eat it, I had a burger and it was one of the juiciest I’ve ever had, Jason was my waiter and he was phenomenal, he was on point with bringing our orders and taking our orders and he was hilarious cracking his jokes, and when he referenced star wars I knew he was gonna be great, definitely recommend asking for him. Service was steak sauce A1.

Although the service was good, our waitress was excellent. I come to find out afterwards that they have what they call a service fee of 18% sad part about it was my service was very good. But unfortunately, due to the fact that they did not disclose that there was going to be an 18% service fee, which I believe to be gratuity, which they said it was not. Which means that wasn’t even going to the server. It was sad because my waitress would have gotten a bigger tip from me. Due to her service, but the store ruined that. If you’re going to charge an 18% what you refer to as service fee.You need to tell people also that 18% was for 2 people with two sandwiches. I’m very disappointed in that fact. But so be it.I will not go there again. What happened to the village inn? it used to be a very family oriented restaurant. So sad.
