I had never been to a village inn before and after this I can safely say I won’t be coming back. I wanted to try something new with one of my kids so we went here.
First, it looked abandoned, which I didn’t mind. The ceiling tiles are a light orange that reminded my of the smoking section in days gone by. I wasn’t hungry so I just ordered a Pepsis. My daughter ordered a plain burger, side of fries. A side of bacon (2 strips), and a soda. This isn’t a crazy order. Literally 1 hamburger and fries, 2 drinks, and the only extra was 2 strips of bacon. The food was ok. Nothing bad, but nothing special.
Then the bill came. $28.74! For one meal! Like really? I could have gotten good food at that price. Or at least more of the same at chilis next door.
Before anyone says about check the menu pricing, I did. The burger and fries are 11.29. The soda $3.99×2 (this was high, but I accepted). The bacon was an add on but apparently it costs more for it to be on the side rather than on the burger, so that was more than menu price. The real kicker was an 18% “service” fee that was added on outside of the tip.
No thanks, you got me once, but I won’t be back.

Today November 25, 2025 I went to the Village Inn Restaurant in Land O Lakes Tampa for breakfast with a new friend. We had a good time talking there and the breakfast was really good too! The waiter was very nice and the restaurant was very clean. I would go there again! ☺️

If a restaurant is going to automatically charge you 18% gratuity, they should at least make sure they have more than one server and that they’re not rude. I had an empty drink my entire meal and it took over 15 minutes to flag down someone for the bill. The host took care of our table more than our actual waitress did and ended up bringing our boxes and to go drinks. I told him I wanted our tip to go to him instead of our waitress. When she overheard that, she became super defensive, started arguing with me, ripped my card out of my hand and dropped it on the table when she was done. The food is good, but not good enough to deal with the attitude and horrible service.

The food was very good. Perfect diner style breakfast food. I had the turkey club and tomato soup as a side. My wife had fried eggs, toast and bacon. Both of us commented on how great the food was. And our server Tony was wonderful. Very polite. We will definitely be back.

Our waiter was Levie, outstanding service. I’d not been here before but will come back. Food was hot, tasty. Good food choices on the menu. I’d call this a hidden gem on rt 54.

Placed an online order today to take food to my parents and had an issue. When I arrived to the restaurant – the staff at the front desk were very friendly and moved quickly to get my order. I asked for help with an issue I had with the ordering of online. They asked ,Mike the GM, who promptly came out To speak with me. He was able to quickly make the correction and refund a portion of the order. He even followed up with me via text to make sure I knew the correction was complete and make sure I was satisfied with everything. The food was hot and fresh and delicious. The staff was personable and Mike offered excellent customer service. Sandi, the waitress came over to speak to me and make certain I had everything I needed. What a fantastic experience and a terrific staff. They made certain, I’ll be back.

How are you guys gonna put the tip already on the check then when the option to bypass having the tip on the check is given it’s entirely overridden? After I give a cash tip on top of opting to not have the tip put on the check. Fix your systems or have your waitresses be upset at the tipping in the future

After getting emails from Village Inn about their new Cherry Jubilee pie, we came out to try it on Sunday afternoon. There were ads all over the tables and on the walls with the delicious pie on them.
We ordered 1 French silk slice and 1 cherry jubilee slice. A minute later the waitress came back to the table and said that they are out of the cherry jubilee but would make one? Seconds later she returned ask if I would like something else. I ordered a French silk. Again after a minute she came back and said they only had one slice,the one my hubby ordered. So I ordered triple berry.
Several minutes later a dry crumbly berry pie slice and a half slice of French silk pie came out. She could have offered whipped cream, maybe.. do you think?
The bill came to $20.08 for glass of water, A glass of iced tea, a nasty slice of dry berry pie and half slice of French silk pie PLUS an 18 percent service fee for the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
We order your French silk pies every holiday season, so we were super disappointed with this visit.
The waitress was “unfriendly” without being outright rude. We will not be returning.

My husband loves cherry pies. This year I had decided to actually buy him one that he could eat by himself without having to share with anyone! It was a hilarious joke to me, however I was not from Land O’Lakes and Caitlyn and her host, Charlie, directed me to your restaurant. They had the two cherry pies ready for me, and when I asked if there was a way that I could hide one of them so that my husband would not recognize the second pie, Caitlyn came to the rescue! That is a lot to ask from an attendant, and they were wonderful!. I had never been to this Vilage Inn because there is one near my house in Tampa, near Kennedy Blvd., and while they have always been nice, this service was SUPERB! This girl is a gem. I was lucky to experience her brightness yesterday on Christmas Eve.
