So far this spot has not disappointed us. The biscuits are soft and fluffy, we tried the homemade cinnamon roll (amazing by the way) and im fairly certain it was made as we waited because it came out warm and soft and not hard or stale. Chicken fried steak is always a great portion which me an hubs now split. Today did take a while but the waitress came by multiple times to check on us.

This charming cafe is everything you remember best about the breakfast and lunch place where you grew up. Very home cooked, simple all American fare that’s very well done. There’s a wonderful variety of homemade muffins, standard breakfast items and sandwiches. Nothing too fancy and everything’s delicious. You feel like part of the family by the end of your meal.

The Turkey Bacon Avocado Melt was absolutely delicious! Grilled to perfection on sourdough, the crispy bread paired beautifully with the melted Jack cheese, savory turkey, and smoky bacon. The avocado added a creamy touch that brought everything together. The fries were perfectly crispy and well-seasoned, making for the perfect side. This daily special is a must-try—I’ll definitely be back for it!

Very upbeat server, Windows, tables, seats were all very clean. Great prices for delicious food. Great value. Kids menu was decent, also if breakfast burritos are your thing, cowboy breakfast burrito is a MUST. Central location is perfect to stop by when strolling through the AG village. Also quick service and very respectful and high vibe service!

The food was good. The waitress was nice and friendly. Wait time wasn’t bad either. As we left, the cook and waitress sent us off with a farewell.

Had the Chile Verde omelet and my mom had bacon and eggs. Both were delicious! The server, Kim, did an excellent job, especially since she was the only server. The restaurant got busy and she handled it with no issues. No complaints either from anyone in the place! It’s been a while since I’ve been here and everything was great!

Village Cafe in Arroyo Grande is an absolute gem! Nestled in the charming downtown old town, the cafe offers a delightful ambiance that perfectly complements its fantastic breakfast offerings. Both my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste of the food. To top it off, the prices were quite reasonable, making it a great choice for a delicious and affordable meal. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Whenever I drive from LA to SF I plan my departure time so that I can be here for breakfast. It’s almost three hours into my drive but totally worth it.
Great service and amazing food. Last time I tried the home made corned beef hash which is my new favorite!

(I hardly ever have cash with me but they have a 4% cash discount)

First and last time for the Village Cafe. My husband loves corned beef and orders it most times we eat out for breakfast. The corned beef served here looked like something from a dog food can. My husband said he thought it had been watered down or had something else added because there was very little corned beef flavor. I tasted it and agreed, maybe the cook dumped in the potato water or something else to stretch the meat, there wasn’t much in the way of potatoes in it. It certainly did not taste like brisket. I asked the waitress what the corned beef was made of and she said they cooked the brisket themselves. Does this look like brisket? I said it didn’t look like brisket and she said that the cook grinds it up and maybe she should tell customers that before they order. I doubt that we were the first to complain. My husband ate the eggs and some potatoes but very little of the corned beef. The waitress said the owner does not allow adjustments on the check. The picture is what he left uneaten. Disgusting.

I am not sure what world the people in these comments are living in but the food here is awful. We were so excited to try a new place and it was instant regret. We will stick to ‘lil bits in Grover Beach. We had the french toast and country steak. Country steak was just a seared patty. People need to look at the pics that are being posted for a more accurate review.
