This place reminds me of a pretty standard brewpub, there is a bar and lots of tables to sit at. The service wasn’t bad, the food was ok. The beer was also ok.

Last night (11/29) my family of 4 came in after shopping for Small Business Saturday. We had such a great time! Our server Marilyn was fantastic. She knew what we were going to need/ask for before the words could come out of our mouths. We have not had great service post-Covid in many places in Somerset and Hunterdon. Having been in the industry for decades myself, Marilyn was a breath of fresh air, or maybe nostalgia is a better word, to a different time where customer service was the center of attention in restaurants.

Service was fast, food was fantastic, and the atmosphere felt like something you wanted to be a part of- it was buzzing but not overwhelmingly crowded (also it was 5:30). I’m going to dream of that Butternut Squash flatbread for days to come. It was out of this world and what I wish could have been on our table at Thanksgiving instead lol. My boys enjoyed their kids burgers and fries (fries were fantastic) and my husband said his crispy chicken sandwich was on point. Beers were ice cold, Marilyn kept our glasses full. She was patient at the checkout process when I had a Yiftee gift card that we had won from Downtown Somerville Alliance that we had to figure out how to redeem. My phone has a bulky case and the card reader wasn’t recognizing it at the register. She was patient as could be during a busy dinner service as we found the card number on the Yiftee website to redeem.

In a world where most people only reach out/review to complain, I just wanted to reach out to say thank you and to say how great our experience was thanks to Marilyn and how great our time in Village was yesterday. At the time of day we went, it was definitely kid-friendly and my kids really liked the design of the kid menu and the activities they had on there for Thanksgiving. We will absolutely be back!

We haven’t been to Village Brewing for a while. It wasn’t bad, but there were just other options around that we frequented. We have heard that it has ‘changed’ and thought we’d give it another shot last Friday.

It was great! 4 of us had a few apps and tried a variety of meals. It was all amazing. We will put it back into our rotation for sure, and will try to take advantage of their happy hour as well!

I’m not really sure what happened here. My fiancée has come here before and had a great time. We came with a group of 5. The hostess introduced herself with an attitude. The server was essentially nonexistent so we had to ask other staff to get him to attend to our table multiple times. I’d understand if they were busy but they only had 5 table occupied in the whole restaurant. The crispy chicken was soggy and the coleslaw tasted like it had been sitting out for a couple of days. Maybe I just came on an off day? at least the beer selection was good. Edit: Round 2 was extremely disappointing. $20+ dollars for that meat to bun ratio is absurd. The waiter was an upgrade from the last. Just come here for a beer.

I love Village Brewing Company. The food is consistently really good, the drinks are solid, and the overall vibe is super cozy and welcoming. It feels like the kind of place you can go for a casual night out, a date, or just to hang with friends.

It’s also one of my favorite spots to watch sports. There are plenty of TVs, the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, and it’s easy to settle in and actually enjoy the game. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better.

Overall, Village Brewing Company is a great neighborhood spot with good food, a comfortable atmosphere, and a fun place to watch sports. Definitely recommend.

Talk about a cool place to come have a meal and a beer. Nachos were made well and you could tell the chicken had been seasoned well. I had a “Smokey” beer, well 2 if we are being honest. It really paired well with the nachos. The staff was very good and knowledgeable.

The staff were very attentive and friendly despite it being very busy when we went. Our waiter’s name was Bigiamo and he was amazing. The atmosphere of the place was great, and my partner said the craft beer was on point.
Now for the bad part… The food was not good. It was lukewarm at best, and EXTREMELY over priced. My partner ordered a bowl of noodles with vegetables in it that cost $18. We knew the price and we ordered it because that’s what she wanted, but it was just an average bowl of noodles. Nothing special even though the price was egregious.
If you feel like dessert though, the caramel spiked milkshake is delicious, and was the only food item we ordered that was worth the price.

Food and beers were great. Service good be better. Ordered pretzel bites for an appetizer and they never came a bit expensive though. Two dinners 2 beers and one cocktail.
$80 without tip. I will be back though. Not weekly though.

Nice brewery and restaurant right in the middle of downtown Somerville. Not only do they have a great selection of their own beers, they also boast a full bar with other spirits and wine. They also have a decent food menu and I can recommend the cheesesteak. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, not to mention they won’t hesitate to make suggestions if you have any questions. 2025 update: came for fish and chips on God’s Friday and my family agreed they had the best in the area.

Me and friends went to club downstairs on Saturday evening and our bartender SHEA Was literally the best best bartender we had in the past 14, he could poured the most incredible drinks and even concocted an Egg Nog that was out of this world with fresh cinnamon, eggs, cream, and some whisky. Surpurb.. we were so impressed we told our other friends and now they want to join us next week.

Went to celebrate my birthday and had such an amazing experience. First of all the food is to die for, cooked and prepped with such expertise, unbelievable. You could tell the chef loves what he does. We tried multiple apps, and entrees that were just over the top, nothing was too pricey, the staff was extremely friendly, even the chef came out to see how we were enjoying our food. I highly recommend going and eating here, everything down to the milkshakes were delicious.
