We happened upon this place walking uptown. It was very nice! The drinks are spectacular (from what we saw, we sat at the bar). We waited about 10 minutes for a table at prime time Saturday around 5pm Dec 13. Not bad. Great prices for where the restaurant is located. Buffalo Pizza was excellent as well as the spinach goat cheese salad. Talking with folks it’s the best mud range restaurant around. If I lived close by I would stop in. Friendly bartenders and host/staff. Go u won’t regret it.

Had the foccacia for appetizer, farfalle limonelli, and fried calamari. Foccacia bread was oven roasted and turned out to be perfectly crispy. Calamari was crunchy and enough seasoning. The bow tie pasta was creamy and comforting. Overall everything was good, but it’s a little pricey. Also was not told that the foccacia was not complimentary (you usually get bread).

We had such a wonderful dining experience at Serafina in NYC. The ravioli and house-made pasta were absolutely delicious, and the pizza was a standout. Watching the Tartufo Nero pizza being prepared in front of us made it even more special—and it was so flavorful that it barely lasted 30 seconds on the table! The burger was also cooked perfectly, juicy and satisfying. The staff was warm and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made the evening even more enjoyable. We went before the big dinner rush, which made for a relaxed and comfortable meal. Overall, a fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back.

A restaurant that gave me a pleasant surprise. My best friend and I had a great time there. It’s worth visiting again.

Only went for a cold beer on a hot day but such a good atmosphere and menu that we stayed to eat. Lovely staff and a great buzz even though it was only 5pm. We both ate fresh pasta dishes that were excellent quality and not too large. A large portion of pistachio cake
for me proved to be more than enough for us both. Highly recommended place to eat for fellow visiting Europeans

Went there with my wife and daughter. We started with spinach salad and the grilled octopus…. Then my daughter ordered the lobster ravioli and my wife and I had the steak and fries… The salad was excellent and the octopus even better especially with the condiment paste which seemed to have horseradish which gave it a nice freshness. The octopus was perfectly cooked too… The ravioli was good and the steak was very good. We finished with espresso and rocatta cheese cake. Had a full meal and I would repeat… Good stuff.

I usually don’t write about chain restaurants (Serafina has 25 in NY) but this one on 61st didn’t feel like a chain. Walk down a few steps to an intimate setting with small tables and a bar. At the back area is the pizza oven. Although on my two visits, I didn’t try a pizza, the ones I saw at neighboring tables looked delicious. We had the ‘Al Pacino’ aglio & olio and tagliatelle e fieno. We started with the insalata di poro cervo. A huge portion that we split. Subtle but tasty dressing and a great mix of romaine, hearts of palm and avocado. A small but good selection of wines by the glass and they serve generous pours. We also had a side of grilled lentils. Very tasty. The aglio olio was perfect. This is a simple but hard to make dish. Usually it is swimming in oil but this was just perfect blend of ingredients. It has a little kick as it is made with red pepper. The paglia has homemade fettuccine with a great tomato and cream sauce. A nice blend of flavors. For Desert we had the coconut gelato which was full of coconut flakes. Delicious. Fahim and Gilberto were our servers and very friendly and helpful. I don’t know if the other outposts of this chain are the same but this location was great. So good we came back a second time!

Our table got the RAVIOLI AI PORCINI and RAVIOLI DEGLI INNAMORATI. Absolutely delicious! Very nice atmosphere. Biggest complaint would be the service. The only one who really seemed to be working was the gentleman clearing tables. Rest of the staff was standing around. Server didn’t check on table or ask if would like another drink. He spent more time talking to staff instead of tending tables. Table beside us had to motion waiter down for check as they had been waiting for some time. We asked for the dessert menu and it was 15 minutes before he returned so we just got our check and left. He, and who appeared to be a manager, stood around chitchatting most of the time we were there. If you don’t mind slow service then you should be fine.

From start to finish, this place was a total disappointment. The service alone completely ruined the evening. Our waitress was constantly pushing us to order more, hovering over the table, and trying to clear our plates literally every minute — even while we were still eating. It felt rushed, uncomfortable, and borderline aggressive.

But the real disaster came after. All four of us got food poisoning following this dinner (we ordered pizzas and pastas). Spending the next day sick after paying those prices is absolutely unacceptable.

As someone who is Italian, I can confidently say the food quality was embarrassing. Everything tasted like cheap frozen meals — bland, watery, and completely lacking flavor. This is not Italian food, not even close.

And somehow the desserts managed to be even worse. The tiramisu and the Ferrero Rocher dessert were bitter, flavorless, and inedible. We took a few bites and left the rest.

This restaurant focuses on decor and pressure sales instead of food quality and genuine hospitality. If you care about your health, your money, or authentic Italian food — avoid this place at all costs!

In a few words: I was expecting more.
Let me elaborate.
My biggest concern was questionable serving size for all of our food we’ve had that evening: Ceasar salad (way too plain and boring, we didn’t finish it), proscioutto & burrata (prosciutto too thin sliced, it was falling apart), followed with ravioli with butter & sage (VERY greasy and not cooked well) and veal scaloppine (3 ultra thin slices, thinner than a knife blade, served with cold vegetables on the cold plate; 6 small bites in total, that’s unacceptable).
We finished our dinner, and I was still hungry 🙁
They have 2 floors, ground level with more intimate ambient and the upper one for patents with kids and big parties. We had a table on the upper lever, and we couldn’t eat from noisy kids, so I recommend to avoid it.
The menu can be improved in many ways, it is quite boring and standard.
Service is basic. We had 2 waiters: a female approached to us and introduced herself, told us specials, and afterwards she vanished (without a word) and all of a sudden a male server aproached to us (?!?). Very unprofessional, that always creates a weird environment and mixed feelings.
However, the best part of the evening was our red wine Amarone Valpolicella IL Palazzo, Seravino, DOCG (2021). Thumbs up for that and my recommendation if you prefer strong, jammy, and full body wine.
We left 22% to support hospitality workers, but overall this place is not for us. There are much better Serafina franchise locations in the city.
Happy Christmas and Happy New Year 2026!!!
