The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the hummus, which was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and simply divine. Paired with their warm, fluffy pita bread, it was a match made in heaven. The assortment of dips was equally impressive, bursting with bold flavors and fresh ingredients that elevated the entire dining experience. Each bite was a testament to the care and quality put into the food.
However, as a vegetarian, I found the menu somewhat limited in terms of plant-based options beyond the starters. While the hummus and dips were a standout, I wished for more vegetarian-friendly entrees to round out the experience. That said, the dishes we did try were executed beautifully, and the flavors were authentic and memorable.
Overall, Villa Yara is a gem for anyone seeking delicious Mediterranean-inspired cuisine in DC. If they expanded their vegetarian offerings, it would easily become a go-to spot for all diners. I’ll definitely be back for that incredible hummus and pita!
After a disappointing experience elsewhere, we came to Villa Yara for my dad’s birthday and were immediately reminded why we love this place so much. They offered both the Restaurant Week menu and their full à la carte menu, which was incredibly appreciated and exactly how it should be. No pressure, no surprises—just thoughtful hospitality.
We’ve been here a handful of times now, and the experience is always consistent: excellent service, genuinely accommodating staff, and zero pretension. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and truly wants you to have a great time. They went out of their way to make my dad feel celebrated, which meant so much since he was visiting from out of town.
And the food—SO yummy. Flavorful, comforting, beautifully prepared, and perfect for sharing. Every dish hits.
Villa Yara manages to feel special without trying too hard, and that’s rare. We always leave happy, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommend.
The food was good, and the staff were generally attentive and helpful.
However, when it was time to pay, a girl suddenly came over and insisted we pay using another device that had a mandatory tip option, starting from around $22 and up. We chose “no tip” since everyone was serving together and no one provided any special or outstanding service.
As we were leaving, a Lebanese guy at the door confronted us angrily, asking why we didn’t leave a tip. He said, “This is America, you have to tip,” and rudely added that next time we must leave one.
His attitude was rude and unprofessional, which completely ruined the overall experience.
The food was absolutely exquisite, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.
Each dish was a delightful surprise, showcasing the chef’s creativity and attention to detail. The restaurant’s design is equally impressive, with a stunning ambiance that creates the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.
The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home.
I can’t wait to return to Villa Yara and indulge in their culinary delights once again!
