I recently dined at Villa Yara in Washington, DC, and it was a delightful experience that left a lasting impression. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a charming blend of modern and rustic decor that creates a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive, offering friendly service that made us feel right at home.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the hummus, which was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and simply divine. Paired with their warm, fluffy pita bread, it was a match made in heaven. The assortment of dips was equally impressive, bursting with bold flavors and fresh ingredients that elevated the entire dining experience. Each bite was a testament to the care and quality put into the food.
However, as a vegetarian, I found the menu somewhat limited in terms of plant-based options beyond the starters. While the hummus and dips were a standout, I wished for more vegetarian-friendly entrees to round out the experience. That said, the dishes we did try were executed beautifully, and the flavors were authentic and memorable.
Overall, Villa Yara is a gem for anyone seeking delicious Mediterranean-inspired cuisine in DC. If they expanded their vegetarian offerings, it would easily become a go-to spot for all diners. I’ll definitely be back for that incredible hummus and pita!

My visit to Villa Yara today was excellent! We ordered several Middle Eastern dishes to share, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The undisputed highlight of the meal was the chicken; it was simply the best. I highly recommend ordering a chicken dish for your table! Fantastic food and a great spot for sharing with friends.

Villa Yara continues to be one of our absolute favorite Lebanese spots in DC—and this visit sealed it.

After a disappointing experience elsewhere, we came to Villa Yara for my dad’s birthday and were immediately reminded why we love this place so much. They offered both the Restaurant Week menu and their full à la carte menu, which was incredibly appreciated and exactly how it should be. No pressure, no surprises—just thoughtful hospitality.

We’ve been here a handful of times now, and the experience is always consistent: excellent service, genuinely accommodating staff, and zero pretension. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and truly wants you to have a great time. They went out of their way to make my dad feel celebrated, which meant so much since he was visiting from out of town.

And the food—SO yummy. Flavorful, comforting, beautifully prepared, and perfect for sharing. Every dish hits.

Villa Yara manages to feel special without trying too hard, and that’s rare. We always leave happy, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience dining there. Food was delicious and definitely slightly different menu but with variety I didn’t see at other Mediterranean restaurants. The employees there are polite and were very helpful.

My experience at Yara Villa Lebanese Restaurant was average.
The food was good, and the staff were generally attentive and helpful.

However, when it was time to pay, a girl suddenly came over and insisted we pay using another device that had a mandatory tip option, starting from around $22 and up. We chose “no tip” since everyone was serving together and no one provided any special or outstanding service.

As we were leaving, a Lebanese guy at the door confronted us angrily, asking why we didn’t leave a tip. He said, “This is America, you have to tip,” and rudely added that next time we must leave one.
His attitude was rude and unprofessional, which completely ruined the overall experience.

Came here for a lunch today and honestly the experience was subpar. We were seated outside and our plates were swarmed with flies and bees and despite asking the servers on multiple occasions if they could help they all seemed clueless so we were moved inside. The entrees are insanely overpriced for the quality and quality (over $20 for one skewer of chicken kebab?) which is insane. You could get really good kebab with that price point literally anywhere else. It was such a rip off. Appetizers didn’t taste fresh at all and everything was honestly pretty terrible. I hate writing negative reviews but it truly wasn’t worth it and I probably won’t come back. Food wasn’t great, service was meh, and this restaurant isn’t very baby or stroller friendly either. I don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for good Lebanese food (though they market themselves to be fine dining the food really isn’t on the level of fine dining). Anyways, hope things improve ….

Enjoyed my experience dining here. The service was great. Everything Iordered was delicious. My favorite is Yara’s tabouli salad. The mixed grill was all tender, juice and flavorful. The hummus was so good and the baklava is perfect. Can’t wait to come back to try other dishes

I stopped in after walking around Georgetown on a beautiful Autumn day. The staff were warm and welcoming. One thing I learned by stopping in at 2:45pm is their kitchen closes so they can prepare to re-open for dinner service. Learning this I had to place my order all at one time. Also, the food prep takes longer when the kitchen is transition. For instance, the Maanek was good but the pomegranate molasses tasted more like it was lemon base than pomegranate. Also, the Manti was overcooked where many of the dumplings had crunchy tops and were inconsistently filled with meat. Overall it was a good meal for the price, but the wait for your meal and its execution may miss the mark if you’re here when the kitchen and/or staff are in transition.

Great restaurant on M street that offers a tasteful and well balanced Lebanese menu. The food is full of flavor and the staff is quick and eager to help bridge the cultural barrier (if that’s the case with your party). Highly recommend!
