A lovely Hatian restaurant that speciliases in Creole and French cuisine. The staff are very friendly and give advice on the menu. I ordered Lobster tail and it tasted great along with black rice and plantin.

Definitely one the best Haitian restaurants on the island! Ask for the “Lambi” with white rice and beans, or the snapper with black rice. Service was great as well. My only complaint was the mosquitos, but our waitress was kind enough to lit up a candle which really helped. Very delicious food! We’ll be back.

I went to this restaurant after a friend recommendation. The food was really nice and well served. The cocktail was OK but I only recommend the frozen mojito or the frozen daiquiri. The rest is not really all that. They need to better themselves.
Why only a 3 stars because the service is really bad the people that serve you make you feel like you are annoying them asking for details or more information on the plates, sighing and rolling eyes.

I haven’t gathered the words to express my deepest gratitude for how special this team of amazing people made me feel. I was told about this amazing restaurant during my visit and last minute I made reservations for my birthday and they accommodated me. They made me feel like the birthday girl the moment I walked in. The food was great!!! It tasted like good authentic Haitian food. The owner, Rose, came to chat with me and later did a special HBD duet. They can sing and dance; it was so amazingly wonderful. I highly recommend them for any time of the day. I’ll be sure to return on my next visit. Thank you!!!

Update 2025: Had family here on vacation that was craving local food. Here is a list of what we ate: stuffed crab, coconut shrimp, cod fish Accra, grilled snapper, marinated half chicken, shrimp salad, ribs, grilled salmon and shrimp pasta. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! They enjoyed it immensely! The service was good as well.
Update 2024: Still great! We had the creamy salmon, creamy & curry shrimp, with crab back, sautéed potatoes, tostones and rice. Was delicious!
2023: The food is great!! I was pleasantly surprised. The presentation of certain dishes has absolutely no bearing on the quality of the food.
The service, however, could use improvement.
I recommend the Mahi Mahi tacos, seafood pasta, and the ribs.

Villa Royale has a welcoming atmosphere and seems to be a favorite for many, but our experience was mixed. Both my wife and I ordered fish, and unfortunately, both dishes were overcooked and quite dry. To their credit, the staff did replace my wife’s dish—though it came after we had already finished our meal, and the replacement was still on the dry side. We also didn’t quite get the authentic Creole flavors we were hoping for. While the service was polite and attentive, the food didn’t live up to our expectations. Might not return, but others may have a better experience.

My family rented out this hall for an event. The positives
The room was colorfully and neatly decorated. The pineapple was delicious. The young woman who announced the meal was polite.
It was lovely to spend time with loved ones.
Constructive criticism
The food was not good and was overcooked. There was plenty of food leftover and they refused to let anyone take anything home. We had a cake and the young lady who cut the cake appeared so vexed that she had to serve people it was a complete turn off.
The service was slow. I noted the people dining outside, not part of our party were also commenting on the slow service.
There are much better places to eat creole food in Saint Martin.
