We had a very disappointing experience here. Shortly after being seated, we felt rushed by our server and were repeatedly asked to order within just a few minutes. We were eventually told the restaurant was very busy and that we needed to place our order, which took away from what should have been a relaxed evening.
When the food arrived, the steak was a poor cut with a grainy texture, and the baked potato had a bad spot that I had to eat around. The wine was good, but unfortunately that was the only bright spot.
We were celebrating our anniversary and had hoped to enjoy a slow, special meal together. Instead, the service felt hurried and the food quality didn’t justify the experience. With so many excellent restaurants available, we won’t be returning.

I was wandering around the area and noticed quite a few people enjoying their meals here, so after checking out a few other spots, I decided to give it a try.
The steak was AWESOME… cooked just right and I was genuinely happy with it.
Service was friendly and attentive too.
Overall, a great experience and definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re nearby!

The first thing we noticed when we went inside was the stench of some kind of animal. It didn’t go away even after we had been sitting there for a while. There were five of us, and we sat at a table for four, thinking our fifth friend could just take an extra chair, but he wasn’t allowed to.
The waiter came up to us every minute, rushing us, but when we were finally ready to order and called him over, he was very irritated and said, “I’ll be there soon, can’t you see I’m here alone?” Overall, he was unfriendly. When we were ordering, he looked at us as if he were doing us a favor by serving us.
I ordered a mojito, and he said I had to choose something else “because it takes too long to make.” I said that in that case I didn’t want anything, and he didn’t even offer an alternative. My friend asked how long it would take to prepare the cocktail, and the waiter said 10 minutes. (Seriously? In some places cocktails take even longer than food, and it’s literally his job to make them…). The mojito that they offered to me was in a uncommon small glass and was 90% ice.
The lamp above our table was very dusty and it’s also no place to leave the jackets.

Pleasant setting and the food is decent – though the garlic bread was simply bread with garlic butter on the side. Also wine-by-the-glass options are very limited (only Merlot for red wine to go with the steak).

My family of hubby, teenage daughters (16 &18) and me had dinner here. I wanted a restaurant with meat/fish options and vegetable options too as I like to eat lots of fresh vegetables with my meal. This place did not fail to deliver with lots of choice. We had the prawn starter and chorizo sausages then my daughters and I had the chicken salad which was packed full of vegetables in the salad, olives, and tender grilled chicken we also shared chips and grilled veggies, which were scrummy (carrots, onions, corn, peppers, courgettes), My hubby had steak, which came with salad and he had jacket potato. Everything was fresh, tasty and looked amazing. The deserts were delicious too, tiramisu, cheesecake, creme brûlée and profiteroles. The waiters were so friendly and interacted with us all. A place with a variety of food choice, delicious fresh cooked food with incredibly friendly service.

We were looking for a place to eat and decided to take a stroll to scope out our options. Villa Maria immediately caught our attention it was by far the busiest spot, which we took as a good sign so we decided to give it a try. And we’re so glad we did!
We were not disappointed. The meat was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, exactly as ordered tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The spare ribs were another highlight, with BBQ sauce that was rich, balanced, and absolutely delicious. And we can’t forget the sides! The mushrooms were flavorful, the sweet potato was cooked beautifully, and the onion rings were crispy and addictive. Everything on the plate just worked.
All in all, it was absolutely worth the 5 stars. We’ll definitely be back!

Great food but very overpriced. We sat next to the kitchen and heard the cooks arguing with each other constantly, it was a bit awkward and the food took a long time to arrive but overall decent experience.
