Food was good, they do have a really good fried rice. I tried the orange chicken but it was alright, nothing great about it.
I would definitely come back for the fried rice! They have a lot of Venezuelan products too!
We placed a fairly large order (around $70). The bag had a paper attached with items crossed off, and we were assured everything was included, but when we got home we realized one of the meals, almost a $20 dish was missing. We tried calling twice on two separate occasions to get it fixed or refunded, but never even received a response.
The rest of the food was also less than average taste wise with an exception of the fried rice which was yummy!, however this made the experience even more disappointing. I truly wanted to love this place, but between the missing item, lack of follow-up, and overall food quality, unfortunately will not be coming back or recommending 🙁
Villa Cantón is a fantastic restaurant that offers delicious Chinese food with a unique Venezuelan twist. The flavors are outstanding, and every dish is carefully prepared to perfection. The service is excellent, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s definitely a place worth revisiting. Highly recommended!
ATMOSPHERE–My experience was terrific. When my wife and I arrived the place was fairly full. It was Superbowl Sunday and they had the game playing on the televisions. But it did not seem like anyone cared about the game, if they did they probably would have been home with friends or at a sports bar partying.
We were greeted right away, and asked if we had a table preference. The table was clean and the seats comfortable. Our waitress was attentive, but not intrusive and always smiling. She was very pleasant. The restaurant is in a strip mall and is bright and cheery. They have a back room that was being prepped for Valentine’s day with pink lighting, hearts and other decorations. It looked cute.
FOOD FIRST IMPRESSION–I was skeptical. I began by ordering a beer, and then looked at the appetizers. It was then I noticed…Egg Roll…pork, veg cheesesteak, shrimp. CHEESESTEAK EGG ROLL, uh oh I thought…never saw a cheesesteak Egg Roll on the menu in NYC’s Chinatown, San Francisco’s, Chinatown or in Toronto or D.C. nor any other Chinese restaurant anywhere.
So, I ordered it!
I had to try a cheesesteak Egg Roll. And guess what? It was good. A little small, but crispy and tasty…and it did taste like cheesesteak in a light, flaky, crisp dough…if only it was about 4 times bigger.
FOOD OVERALL–Everything was very tasty and perfectly seasoned. Some of the dishes were a little different than I am accustomed to eating, but that did not diminish how good they were. For instance, the Chicken Lo Mein had some green pepper in it, and the Fried Rice was lacking some scrambled egg and bean sprouts.
We had Fried Dumplings…portion was six large dumplings that were great, especially when dipped in the sauce.
We had Cheesesteak Egg Roll…small, but really good.
Pork With Garlic Sauce…really tasty with some heat and a ton of pork—a lot of pork–nice garlic flavor and a perfect amount of vegetables. It was a very large serving and came with white rice…I want more right now.
Chicken Lo Mein…perfect. Had the greasy flavor and texture (a good thing if you know good lo mein) that can’t be beat, and had the perfect balance of noodles to veggies and chicken. (Just went to fridge and had a fork full of it cold–it is so good.)
And we had Pork Fried Rice…I am so mixed on this. It had the perfect NYC fried rice taste (and was brown as it should be–not yellow), it was not salty nor did it need extra salt–the taste was perfect–BUT–the rice was slightly under cooked, (which may be the norm because at least one other review said the same thing), and it needed some egg and bean sprouts.
Villa Canton–PLEASE COOK THE RICE A FEW MINUTES LONGER!!!
EXPERIENCE OVERALL–I live about 35 minutes away, and I am often in Villa Canton’s area (it is on route to many places I go to in Kissimmee/Orlando). So, I will be back…a lot of times!
The flavour, the quantity, the staff and the atmosphere, everything was great.
We got Fried rice, beef noodles, wonton soup and Chicken broccoli. My favourite was the fried rice, it was made to perfection. This is the closest you can get to a Hakka Chinese fried rice.
Also a plus is the quantity you get is large for the price. This restaurant knows how to keep their customers happy.
All I can say to anyone visiting Orlando is that this should be on your list for good food.
