I have never left a review but felt compelled enough to do so in hopes whomever owns this restaurant can get a better understanding as to why their staff is actually stealing money from them with their laziness. The food was mediocre but I was grateful they were open. The service
was awful. All of the servers/bartenders sit in the corner with their manager Genevieve. I don’t know what they are doing over there, I believe they may have been on their phone based on the light reflecting on their faces. I wanted to think maybe there was a manager who would care that I sat with an empty drink, multiple times, having to ask the dishwasher/bus boy to please grab one of the bartenders sitting in the corner with Genevieve to serve me. By the way, I have 3 drinks over 3 hours so I wasn’t expecting a new drink at an abnormal rate. I worked my way through college in service as a waitress and bartender, so I could understand a delay if the bar was busy; but the only reason for the wait was because these workers were in the corner with their manager and they all were on their phones. At one point I heard Genevieve say, “when will I see you girl.” It was clear that she doesn’t want to be a manager, she wants to be a cool girl. They ended up turning on all of the lights and kicking every one out at 11pm on a Thursday. There were about 40 people there still enjoying their time. It felt like I was at a kohl’s and their manager said “store closed.” It is actually sad for whoever owns this place if they are looking to make money. It’s not external factors, it’s your staff, chasing money away, literally.
Not what you would expect at a W.

We had reservations at the Villa Azur restaurant at 6:15. We arrived at 6:15 and were told we were booked at the living room (bar/lounge) not the Villa Azur. I showed a screen shot of our confirmation to the hostess, and she replied “that’s not good”. She actually did good and had us seated at 6:25. We placed our order for food (a simple pasta dish) and wine at 6:30 and advised the waiter we were going to the concert at 8:00. Wine came soon, but that was the last we saw of the waiter. At 7:10 (no food yet) we asked to speak to the restaurant manager. At 7:20 we asked to talk to the restaurant manager or hotel manager. At 7:30 (no food yet) asked again. At 7:45 (still no food) we were preparing to leave to go to the concert. The restaurant manager (Daniel) came by then and said “you do realize you were booked in the living room lounge right?” I showed him the screen shot of the confirmation and he said “that’s unfortunate”. I told him my complaint was that we had ordered dinner 1 hour and twenty minutes ago and now have to leave. All he kept saying was “I understand your frustration”, that’s all! …..We enjoyed a dinner of pretzels at the concert venue. Very disappointed.

I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews, in fact, I always look at Yelp to see pictures of the dish I want to order. I made the mistake of not looking prior to our arrival and noticed a very low Yelp score. We almost just had a drink and left but the service was great! We were seated immediately and to be honest, we were pretty late for our reservation the place was empty, but it was a Wednesday evening. The fish was cooked extremely well and was very flavorful. The let’s get guava drink was tasty and refreshing! Server was attentive and frequently checked in to make sure we didn’t need anything. Very upscale vibe, welcoming and good music. Would visit the establishment again when we’re in the area.

⭐️⭐️ | Style over substance — one of the most disappointing high-end dining experiences I’ve had in Dallas

We had a 5:15 reservation this past Saturday night (party of four — my wife, my business partner, and his wife). The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived — maybe five tables occupied in total — so we expected smooth service. Instead, what we got was one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant of this caliber.

It took nearly 15 minutes just to get water, and our server was completely disengaged from the start. He didn’t introduce himself, explain the menu, or offer any recommendations — just asked, “Do you want any appetizers?” We said yes, ordered a couple, and before we could even place drink orders, he walked off.

Drinks finally came, and they were fine, but that’s about where the positives ended. My business partner’s wife asked about gluten-free options; the server admitted he had “no clue” and said he’d check — then never came back with an answer. She ended up ordering something she hoped was safe.

We ordered four simple steaks with sides — nothing elaborate — but our food didn’t arrive until 6:45, a full 90 minutes after being seated. We mentioned multiple times that we were heading to a show at American Airlines Center and needed to stay on schedule. Despite that, there was zero sense of urgency. I actually went to the service station myself at one point to grab a bottle of water and refill our glasses because no one was checking on us.

The food, once it arrived, was fine. The ambience is actually quite nice — the interior is beautiful, with a great atmosphere and attention to décor. But those two factors don’t make up for the lack of basic service competence or coordination.

When you’re spending hundreds of dollars for dinner, it’s not unreasonable to expect professional, attentive service. What we experienced felt like a restaurant that’s either new, poorly managed, or completely untrained. Everyone seemed out of sync, unmotivated, and unsure of what to do.

Bottom line:
• Ambience: 9/10
• Food: 7/10
• Service: 0/10
• Value: 2/10

If this had been a packed restaurant, I’d have given some grace. But with an almost empty dining room, there’s no excuse. I genuinely hope the management reads this and invests in better training — because as of now, Villa Azur is all show and no substance. The only reason it’s getting two stars instead of one is because the food was decent and the space itself is beautiful.

A Night of Delight with Room for Improvement.
Villa Azur offered a delightful evening with outstanding food, inventive cocktails, and top-notch entertainment. The stilts dancer, Shay B., particularly impressed with their captivating performance.

However, the wine list felt limited and overpriced and could benefit from a wider selection to complement the diverse menu.

Overall, a memorable experience with a minor area for improvement. Highly recommend, especially for the food, cocktails, and entertainment.

Stayed at hotel. Made reservations. No one was in the restaurant eating. Took over 15min to be acknowledged and seated. Drinks extremely over priced. Food was tasty but took forever and by the time we got food, there was only one other table with folks, so the reason for how long it took made no sense. Ordered steaks and got steaks mixed at table on who had what. Not worth the price.

Terrible experience here. Came for dinner to start a girls night but we got stuck here for so long it ruined the rest of our evening plans. When we got there we were the only ones there other than a few at the bar. Our dinner took over 3 1/2 hours due to extremely slow service, we were only able to order 2 drinks in this time as well. When it was time to leave we had to hunt them down for our checks. The manager seemed to care less when we shared our experience with him on the way out. Do not recommend coming here at all.

This place was amazing! I ordered the seabass, and my husband ordered the pasta cheese wheel they made at the table. It was delicious! The seabass was cooked perfectly, tender, not dry, and very flavorful. I had a touch of azur cocktail. It was sweet and tart. I liked my husband’s better, the purple rain. It was a tequila drink that was sweet. But the star of the show was the pates a la meule!! It was creamy and tasted great. It is made at the table and cool to watch. I would definitely recommend this place!

I ordered the Ceasars Salad & Wings. The menu says that the salad comes with sour dough croutons, so I guess that justifies the $19 price. However, the problem is it DID NOT come with sour dough crouton, they were standard food service croutons. The BBQ wings were heavily sauced and it taste exactly like the KFC Honey BBQ sauce. For the price of Villa Azur, I expected gourmet food to accompany the gourmet price. My Let’s Go Guava cocktail was amazing.
