Since we are affiliated with Viking Village, a neighboring commercial fishing dock, our seafood is always fresh. Surprisingly fast service, courteous and friendly staff (though the people helping me looked barely out of high school ) and very tasty food.

Dad and I were quite hungry coming off a fishing boat. He had the flounder sandwich with chips, I had the sampler platter with fries. Signs said 15-20 min wait time (understood, the tables were full) my food came in about 10 min, hot fresh and tasty. Will def be back whenever I’m in the area.

Had the perfect lunch here on a quiet Saturday in July. Food didn’t disappoint one bit. Shrimp and Tuna tacos, calamari and a side of o-rings with two drinks for $60 before tip to the counter staff. Super reasonable! Ambience was great!

Drove down the Garden State Parkway to try an out of the way Seafood Spot for some Fish & Chips …

Nice location to sit out under an umbrella, with nice weather and fresh air.

The food here is great! It’s always fresh and delicious.

I strongly recommend the scallop bisque. It makes you wonder why you don’t see it on more menus.

Also, items like the lobster poutine and flounder francese round out a great menu.

Got there at 4:00 when they open for dinner. Cute take out place with some tables outside. Ordered a shrimp cocktail but was told they didn’t have any. Ordered 2 fried seafood combo dinners and they were heavily breaded and over done as were the fries. Corn was a 2” piece and coleslaw was in a tiny plastic cup. ( usually used for condiments). Not impressed at all.

Off the Hook just catered my wedding and while I hate doing the online review stuff just have to take a moment and affirm that Kris and her team is top notch in all aspects. They are attentive, caring, diligent and wonderful in every way. They went above and beyond the call of duty at every step to ensure the event was amazing from setup, service to stepping up to clean things that were not their responsibility. I am forever grateful to have had them part of my day. Oh and PS, the food was amazing from sliced tuna, sushi, raw bar, scallops, steak.. you name it!

Love picking up a lobster roll or quick lunch here. Friendly and fast service, seating is outside and you pick up your order at the counter. Very fresh seafood. Small parking lot so check how busy it is before you head over.

Don’t waste your time unless you have hours to spare. It took over 40 minutes to get a salad and french fries when we were told a 10-15 minute wait. The staff seem overworked and there is not enough employees to handle the crowds. The old owners were much better and things seemed to run so much smoother. Very disappointed by one of my long-time favorite restaurants on the island. At least the food is still ok.
