Viking Cafe makes simple good food for super reasonable prices. Service was quick and friendly.

We had the fish sandwich with potato salad today for lunch…both were good. The potato salad was rich and creamy and made me think of summer…I wonder why potato salad makes me think of summer

It ain’t fancy, but it’s a good place at a good price!

The Viking cafe is great. It is as far from a cheap franchise as you can get. I was hunting south of blanchardville and came across this gem after a long cold morning and it was exactly what I needed. The environment was upbeat, clean and staff definitely added to the charm. Plenty of seating at the counter but we were exhausted so opted for a booth. The service is great. Quick and attentive. I had the special and a cup of home made chicken noodle soup with hot tea. My friend got the biscuits and gravy w coffee. All the dishes were prepared perfectly. Biscuits were fluffy and gravy was . The pulled pork not over sauced and tender. Mac and cheese was moist and cheesy with some added spice. If you’re in the area give the Viking a shot. I took a chance and am glad I did verses going to a kwik trip and getting less and paying the same.

The food is fairly priced and large portions, service was delivered with a smile, small town cafe feel and the locals seem to really enjoy this restaurant. The Viking Cafe is our favorite breakfast place when we go camping at Yellowstone Lake State Park.

Stopped for breakfast.

All the classics of breakfast were available, omelette’s eggs, pancakes, skillets. They do have homemade bread for toast which was good.

The service was prompt and our waitress checked in on us mutiole times.

For 3 individuals, each with a drink and breakfast entree, the total came to $34. They do accept payment cards.

I would stop back again if I were in the area.

Our initial impression was good. However, as return customers who regularly order from here with 5-10 people in our crew at any given time, we are taking our business elsewhere. The last half dozen times we’ve ordered have been terrible. We tried to believe maybe someone was just having a bad day each time, but that’s clearly not the case. The owner is an arrogant jerk who feels it’s an inconvenience to place a to-go order, especially if you ask for lettuce and tomato on the side of a cheeseburger. He says rude and inappropriate things very loudly that customers can hear. If to-go orders are “killing you” like you said, then perhaps you don’t know what you’re doing. ‍♀️ The only good thing is that at least he (usually) knows how to cook. The females that cook are horrendous so the quality will differ depending on who cooks. Do better Viking Cafe owner, maybe take an anger management class, a business class, and treat your customers like you’d want them to return. P.S. Crispy hashbrowns are not white and barely cooked.

Great mix of eggs, hash browns and spicy taco meat topped with two eggs. Very yummy. Had to have some home made lemon meringue pie to top it off. Servers couldn’t have been nicer too. I love local places.

Waitress was very nice, maybe could have been a bit more attentive.

Food was delicious, but coffee was closer to warm black colored water than coffee. Maybe I just caught it on a bad day though.

Cute and very good diner overall, especially for a rural Wisconsin town.

I have been to Viking Cafe a number of times over the years. When we come into the area to camp and Kayak, breakfast at the cafe is always on the agenda. The food is very good, and prices are reasonable. The owner is a gem, provides great service but makes you feel like family. She also has an adventurous spirit, if you do as well, ask her about her travels.
