Edit: the broth at half capacity filled up the bowl. They greatly over filled the container and it easily spilt
Their cuisine is a pleasant surprise to many and not to be missed. One of the characteristics of Vietnamese food is that it is always fresh, being bought the same morning straight from the market.
One familiar Vietnamese dish one can expect to try is “phở,” a type of rice noodle soup eaten in households, street stalls, and restaurants that began at the peak of French colonialism.
Located at West Falls Plaza off of Route 46 West in Woodland Park, I came to Vietnam Pho as a first-timer, and it hit the spot on a cold December day. Upon entering their clean, modern, and inviting interior, I was greeted by the staff and immediately got a table by the window.
The menu offers authentic pho, rice plates, vermicelli dishes, sandwiches (banh mi), and stir-fries.
As an appetizer, I decided on the Fresh Shrimp Rolls (Gỏi Cuốn Tôm). For the main meal, I opted for a small bowl of Pho Special (Phở Đặc Biệt) containing well-done brisket, flank, tendon, tripe, & beef meatball.
The Shrimp Rolls were delicious, fresh, and a decent-sized portion. However, the peanut sauce was a little bland and could have been a bit thicker. Obviously, the star in any Vietnamese establishment is the pho. The broth arrived hot, bursting with flavor, with great consistency, good-quality meat, and the perfect balance of spices. The noodles were not overcooked.
The presentation of the dishes was also top-notch, adding to the overall dining experience. The portions were generous. The price is comparable to the area. A 10% discount is given if one pays in cash. The service was friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome. I had the chance for some small talk with the owner, Khoa.
Great place to sit and have a relaxing lunch or dinner.
remember, everything here is 10% cheaper if you pay cash! Highly recommend the sliced grilled pork dishes, either in banh mi sandwiches or rice combos. for a small or full sized pho, rare beef & brisket is always my go-to
Ordered rare beef and brisket pho but did not receive any brisket. Soup was flavorful but a bit on the salty side.
Chicken pho is good. Would be better if using bone in chicken instead of shredded chicken.
Pork chop rice came with a side salad which is a nice surprise from sliced cucumbers and tomatoes other places usually give. Pork chops were slightly on the dry side.
Spring rolls were good, no complaints.
Summer rolls were nice and fresh. The sauce needs more peanuts and peanut taste.
Please offer a pork chop pho.
