We had a reservation for 5:15 PM, yet the restaurant was still closed upon our arrival. The place is really tiny. You’re seated to people not even 5 inches from you. You can hear everyone’s conversations.
At 6:06 PM, after waiting nearly an hour, I asked about our lemonade and deviled eggs, which had not yet been served. The lemonade that was brought out was incorrect, and we were still waiting on our appetizer. Meanwhile, guests who arrived after us received their beverages including alcoholic drinks and even their meals before we had received ours.
They started bringing out our food but it was wrong. We finally goy our correct order at 6:20. At that point, we were still waiting on the deviled eggs. The staff did provide the eggs at no charge and applied a $6 discount; however, given that we waited over an hour and experienced multiple order errors, this did not feel proportionate to the inconvenience.
When the food was corrected and delivered, it was very good overall, though the deviled eggs lacked flavor. While we understand that short staffing can create challenges, it was difficult to understand how tables seated significantly later were served before us.
Overall, the quality of the food was enjoyable, but the service requires significant improvement. Also, you have to pay for parking.

Visiting from out of town, and this was the first place me and my partner went to since it was spoken of highly on social media. Booked a reservation online for 5pm today, but arrived a bit late (around 5:15) and was still taken in, and there was only 1-2 other tables here at the time we arrived. Our server was extremely sweet, I don’t recall her name but we ordered the lamb chops with the two sides, and the jerk fried chicken with two sides, along with two drinks. The drinks came out almost immediately and were good, but the issue we ran into was the time between us getting our drinks to getting our food. We ordered around 5:30-5:40 latest and we didn’t get our food until 6:40, and another table next to us who sat after us got their food first. Our server did comp our drinks for the wait, which was a nice gesture but the portions were much smaller than I anticipated, especially for the price that you’re paying.

We went here on Valentines day and had their Valentines day menu and meal. Upon entry I thought the spot was cute and stylish. I liked the dark ambience and how they had the hallway decorated for the occasion. We were seated relatively quickly because we beat the rush. We briefly enjoyed champagne and conversation. However, after we ordered our food the wait times were very stagnant . Our waitress was very sweet and had a nice demeanor.I want to make it clear who served us was not the issue. None of the people who worked there were. My issue was timing of being served and the taste of certain dishes. It took way too long in-between each course to get our food. On average it was around a 35 minute wait between each course. A small salad took 40 minutes to come out. At this point we were going to leave and just cash out but we really wanted to give this spot a chance. The plantain with crab appetizer was okay. The soup they served was different but I didn’t really like it. The fish plate we had was good and presented well but a warm not hot plate. We also waited an additional 35 minutes or longer for our dessert which was a peach cobbler that we got to go. We all were dissapointed at how sour the cobbler tasted and there was hardly any bread in there. The bread that was in the cobbler was hard as well. We all didn’t try it until we got home. We were there from 5:40pm until 9:10pm mostly spent waiting then got home and got dissapointed again. The cobbler was really not good at all. I just knew it was gonna be slamming but it missed on all ingredients.

This place is an entire vibe. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming, stylish, and perfectly balanced. The food was exceptional—beautifully done and full of flavor. It’s the kind of spot that works for everything: a girls’ night out, a dinner date with your boo, catching up with the guys over drinks, or even an after-work unwind. The energy is well-rounded and intentional. Between the food, the service, and the overall experience, it’s easily a 10 out of 10. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation—I’ll be back.

Gross bathrooms: i asked if they would clean them( bc i had to sit ), never happened. There is hardly any options for beer, a chilled pint glasses is non existent. They literally have no pint glasses (weird). Food choices are limited in variety.
Food takes foreeeever to come out. Ordered appetizers (deviled eggs, i do not recommend) @ 5:11 received @6:20. It was slow has hell 3 tables got here after we did and they got served before ours. If your white plan on waiting for your food for 1hr+ and never getting check up. ( its a basic observation)
Ox tail.. watery mash potatoes.
Deviled eggs: flavorless, yet sweet.
Crab Cakes: salty, especially at the bottom. Very good though. More sauce would be lovely
Espresso Martini is very good. Our host, he was so amazing respectful and kind, he took over as our sever, bc she was late.
Music: could be better. The atmosphere, IS Amazing! It is based off of black American musicians i.e.Jazz. Sadly, this restaurant did not portray this. If it did play this genre of Music the atmosphere would be more inviting and welcoming and more enjoyable. This restaurant has soooo much promise. ❣️

Visited here the day after Christmas with family. The dining section is quite small, maybe ten tables, but the decor and atmosphere is nice. Many things were unavailable- no cornbread, some accompanying food items (chimichurri), no desserts. That was crazy. Two people ordered lamb chops that were overcooked. On more than one occasion the server forgot drinks that we ordered. The catfish and snapper dishes were good, however. We were visiting from out of state, so we likely will not return but unfortunately the experience was less than optimal. The “speakeasy” part in the back was cute but we didn’t stay there long.

There was no restroom available and we had to go outside to use a porta potty. We waited awhile to get our food and our order of oxtail was way too greasy/oily so we had to send it back. There was only 2 waiters on the floor attending to everyone. More staff is needed. The environment was good

Stopped here for brunch while visiting a friend in Austin and we wanted a few drinks and something light to eat before visiting other places. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived so we were able to sit where we wanted and we chose to sit at the bar. The drinks were very good, I tried the Old Cuban and the Mimosas. The food however, I was very disappointed with. I wasn’t very hungry so I got a side of cheese grits with the beef bacon and the biscuits with honey butter (all brunch sides). My friend ordered pancakes and chicken sausage. The biscuits were very good we enjoyed them but our food took a good bit to come out although it was fairly empty in the restaurant. I didn’t mind too much because I wasn’t too hungry at the time and my friend and I were enjoying the drinks. When our food finally did come out everything was cold except the chicken sausage. On top of that my grits were very undercooked. I sent both the bacon and the grits back and declined to place an order for anything else. We noticed someone else sent their grits back as well while we were there. My friend did like her pancakes although they came out a little cold.
Once again the staff was very nice and the drinks we tried were amazing, 2 stars for that.

Drinks were amazing. As far as the food it was okay. The side dishes such as the greens and rice were not the best although then fish was fried perfectly. The jerk chicken with the coco bread was delicious. The service was great. Our waitress was great.
