Great little burger joint along the high road to Taos. Nothing fancy…old school diner vibes. You step back in time. Great food.

Stopped here for a chocolate shake and a breakfast burrito and was not disappointed. The couple that runs the drive-in were friendly as were the clientele. Great taste of local life. If you’re traveling through this area and need a quick bite, stop in and you won’t be disappointed.

We were driving by on our way to ski Sipapu, and stopped in for a burger. It was exactly what I expected. Great burger, at a great price, and almost more fries than you could eat.
After we finished skiing, we came back and had the enchilada plate and tamale plate. Both were excellent, and again it was a lot of food for the price.
Victor visited with us and was quite interesting to talk with. He’s been there for 52 years and counting. Definitely go there if you can. We’ll be back for sure.

We were passing through on a leisure drive and stopped for late lunch. Old-fashioned milks shakes, fries made from scratch and fresh from fryer. Good classic burgers. Opened in 1971 and the burger flipper himself was Victor! THE LEGEND. It’s an unassuming place and with no service for anything so you need cash, but definitely stop on in while doing road trips. 10/10 would recommend to all my friends.

We stopped in for a bite to eat on a short road trip. We were not starving but wanted drink and a snack. Its a mom and pop with all of the unassuming, not updated but clean that all good-ole-fashioned places have out in the country. If you want “atmosphere” this probably aint it. BUT if you willing to try something the milkshakes are old-fashioned: ice cream and milk with simple flavoring. Burgers and Hot Dogs simple and pleasing. If you one of those “I NEED SAUCE OR IT GOT NO FLAVOR!!” move along, this is simple but good food and not needing a siGnaTuRe sauce. Its not Sonic, Its not Red Robin, Its not whatever chain you think it should be. Its a mom and pop with simple, but good food between here and there.

This is a great family owned place! They were super friendly and genuinely cared about checking on you. The green chile has a great kick to it. The burgers are filling. And their shakes are really good. They accommodated my request to make a chocolate cherry shake!

Alright, let me get this straight before you guys see the 5 stars and go there thinking this place will be super good. So, let’s start from the beginning. The only thing that might been 3 star Worthy is the fries, they were the only thing nice and crispy. Me and my friends wanted to try this place based on reviews and the fact it was cash only thinking that this place was going to be the best. We walked in there with high hopes. Then we were hit with super weird people, and terrible milkshakes, grey burgers, 0 flavor at all. Terrible atmosphere. It was like another dimension. I’ve never had such terrible food, customer service, and cleanliness. They also cooked the shrimp with the fries, which I’m allergic to shrimp. So I had an awful allergic reaction to the food there. Bland, disgusting, and just the wrist experience I’ve ever had. Will never go back, never try again. Glad I didn’t die, and add I wasted money on this place. McDonald’s is luxury compared to here.

Stopped in for a burger and shake on our way out of town after helping out with the Calf Canyon Fire. Fantastic story of a fantastic family. Enjoyed the food and shake, prices are fantastic. A must stop if you’re ever in the area.

You’ll find polarized reviews here on Google and here’s the reason I think why. You go for miles before passing by Victor’s that if you’re really hungry you’ll love the place. There aren’t even gas stations for miles in order to get a quick bite that you’ll find it like an oasis if you’ve been craving even a snack for a while. In that sense it’s great and perhaps a five-star place given that it’s probably the only roadside eatery around. However, if you’re only judging the food for its quality and not for the lack of eateries around, yeah it’s lacking a lot. I had a burger and enjoyed it (because I was starving) but the meat was a little dry, no special sauce or anything to make the bun + patty feel a little special, also the onions were chunky. I also tried the grilled cheese and it was nothing out of the ordinary, it came on a solo plate wrapped in aluminum. Sort of what you’d get taking some food home at a friend’s party. That being saif if you happen to be around and are starving, do stop and eat. Other than that, don’t make this a must-stop, must-taste attraction and get your hopes up for a great mom-and-pop-diner experience

What a lovely cafe? My husband and nephew came here last week for a quick bite to eat on our way to Pilar. Our hosts were attentive and we enjoyed our food. Although they did not have anything vegan on the menu they helped with making a tasty salad for me which I enjoyed. I would recommend this cafe if you are in the area.
