Vic’s Daily Cafe – Albuquerque, New Mexico

Vic’s isn’t solely a breakfast destination. The lunch menu is replete with comfort food favorites including several Greek entrees.

This place had a long wait but it was sooooo worth it. Had the carne adovada and egg plate and it was very very good. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs and hash browns and had to take half of it home for later as it was giant! Will definitely be back.

The service was excellent. The food was good, and the setting is typical of a diner or cafe. A had the vaqueros (chicken fried steak) with a side of fruit (one of the grapes were moldy). The menu is quite diverse. The portion size made it hard to finish. I’ll be back to try lunch in the future.

⭐ GOOGLE REVIEW FOR VIC’S DAILY CAFE

5 Stars — Food, Service, Atmosphere

I’m so glad a local steered us away from the “tourist favorite” and pointed us straight to Vic’s Daily Café — because this place blew us away. The food is unreal: real New Mexico flavor, perfect heat, and huge portions that taste like somebody’s grandma is still in the back making sure everything comes out right.

Our server, Diana, was phenomenal. Warm, fast, and genuinely helpful — she recommended the exact meal I didn’t know I needed, and she was spot-on. You can tell she cares about her customers, and that energy really sets the tone for the whole place.

Locally owned, no gimmicks, just incredible food, real service, and a family-style atmosphere.
Highly recommend.

This is a MUST TRY when you’re visiting Albuquerque. The food was amazing! Everything came out hot and fresh! You could tell everything was made homemade and made with love as well. I definitely recommend getting the chicken fried steak breakfast, waffles, and biscuits!! I will note that you have to get to Vic’s pretty early to avoid any long wait times – this is a very popular place for locals. The first time we tired during our trip to eat here it was an estimated 45- 50 mins wait. Overall, I will definitely be going back to Vic’s on my next trip!

This plate had me realizing New Mexicans really be doing whatever they want and living life to the fullest.

Needless to say, my Christmas Vaqueros from Vic’s on Osuna humbled me. I didn’t even know where to begin. This behemoth of a meal stared back at me like it was daring me to try to eat it. That plate had to be clocking in at a couple pounds. From the scrambled eggs, pinto beans and hashbrowns underneath bolstering up the generous chicken fried steak like half a dozen stagehands, to the party on top featuring melted cheese polymerizing with the red and green chile, goodness gracious, *chefs kiss* I may have needed a duffle bag for takeaway, but it was worth it.

I’m originally from the Burgh (Pittsburgh, PA) and new-ish to Burque, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t say I adore the way your families here prepare your food, and how everyone’s Mom is a master chef. Beautiful stuff and grateful to be here. Feliz Navidad ❤️ ️

Such a great place to eat. Beware that the portions are generous, especially the Vaquero. Service is on point. Our server was very nice and caring. Surprisingly, the desserts were outstanding, particularly the coconut cake.

Breakfast is served until 2 pm

In short, highly recommend.

Vic’s is incredible! I got the daily special, the Navajo Huevos Rancheros, and it did not disappoint. I think I heard you can order this any time as a “secret menu” item.

While the food was great and the service was great, what impressed me most was the speed. Despite being packed with Balloon Fiesta traffic, our food came out so much faster than I anticipated. I was with a group of 7, and our food was ready within 10 minutes. I was expecting to wait 20-30 like I do at other breakfast joints.

Highly recommend Vic’s! I will definitely be returning in the future.

“The Vaqueros” is worth every bite.

Vic’s Daily Café delivers one of the best New Mexico breakfasts I’ve ever had. I ordered their special chicken fried steak meal, The Vaqueros — a monster plate of crispy chicken fried steak layered over hashbrowns and eggs, smothered Christmas-style in red and green chile, then blanketed in gooey melted cheese. Absolute perfection.

The chile has real flavor (not just heat), the portions are huge, and you get that homestyle diner comfort in every bite. The biscuit on the side? Fluffy and old-school good. Orange juice and coffee kept coming, and the staff made me feel like family.

If you’re a local, you already know. If you’re just passing through Albuquerque — this is a must-stop spot. Bring your appetite, order The Vaqueros, and thank me later.

The host and server were very kind. Giving us a beeper to let us know when a table would be free. It was only about 15 or such minutes. While the service was quick and kept our drinks topped up, the food I chose was a bit bland. Then again I didn’t choose any of the chef’s specials. The biscuits were kinda sweet but tasty, the gravy just tasted s bit bland. The chicken fried steak was tasty but my father informed me it did have some connection tissue and fatty spots. Still i would like to try it again
