Vicinity is an intimate fine dining restaurant in Los Gatos, offering a tasting menu only experience shaped by hyper-local sourcing, modern technique, and deeply personal storytelling. Led by Chef Julian Silvera, the cuisine draws inspiration from California’s landscapes, its coastlines, farms, forests, & native ingredients, with more than ninety percent of the menu sourced from nearby producers. Each dish reflects a moment from Silvera’s life: a hike, a visit to a farm, a memory translated through flavor & form. The dining room evokes relaxed elegance, pairing natural materials, warm lighting, & handcrafted details with formal service. Refinement without rigidity, a place where innovation, hospitality, and a sense of place come together.

The atmosphere is very intimate. The tables are hidden behind a curtain at the back of the restaurant, which makes the experience feel almost like you’ve stepped into something private and special.
I’ll share a few photos, but honestly, this is something people should experience for themselves. The presentation alone sets Vicinity apart from other tasting menu restaurants I’ve visited. It was memorable from start to finish.
The true standout, however, is the food. Each dish is beautifully crafted and deeply personal, reflecting Chef Julian’s experiences in the Bay Area and the many cities that have shaped his culinary journey. The menu tells a story—one that is creative, soulful, and unforgettable. If you enjoy fine dining and unforgettable bites, this 13 course tasting menu is an absolute must!
Much like the previous reviewer, I don’t want to spoil it by sharing too many pictures, but will post a few. It’s something that you really need to experience in person!
