I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Easily one of the best restaurants in the local area. We came in on a very busy night. Even so, the staff still made us feel so welcome. It has such a warm, inviting, and family type of atmosphere. The owner is so kind and friendly. Even though he was busy, he went around and chatted with customers like we were old friends. And the food was amazing!! Everything tasted homemade. So fresh and made with ❤️. I think all the locals need to come try this place. The bread is also DIVINE.

I’ve been here a few times now for dinner, each time with no or very little wait. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, know the menu very well, and do a great job in explaining the specials. Prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. Food is delicious – risotto, cannelloni, everything I have tried has been exceptional. I haven’t tried their pizza but it looks fantastic. Atmosphere is great – I’ve seen friend groups, families, couples on dates, and even the occasional solo diner. Everyone feels comfortable and looks natural. I highly recommend this restaurant as a gem in the Roseville/Rocklin area.

Via Roma Pizzeria con Cucina is one of the best places to eat in Rocklin and easily has the best pizza in Rocklin. We celebrated my grandfather’s birthday here, and the service and food were excellent. Beyond the great pizza and pasta, Via Roma really feels like a community gathering spot. You’ll often see local families, birthdays, and neighbors enjoying dinner together. It’s the kind of authentic Italian restaurant that brings people together. Located near Kathy Lund Park and Lucky Strike Bowling Alley, it’s convenient, welcoming, and full of Italian charm. Via Roma is a Rocklin favorite for anyone who values good food and genuine community.

Via Roma is one of my favorite restaurants in the greater Sacramento area. I’ve been coming here for several years and the food is always delicious and the service is exceptional – especially if you’re lucky enough to have Karen as your waitress. She is incredibly personable, attentive, and her Italian hospitality really shines through. You never have to ask for anything because she’s already one step ahead making sure your table has everything you need. The pizza is freshly made, the homemade focaccia bread is absolutely incredible, they have a nice selection of Italian wines, and the minestrone soup is not only delicious but healthy too. If you love Italian food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Via Roma is definitely a must try!

I visited this place about two weeks ago because it was recommended as a popular local restaurant. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I wasn’t completely satisfied. That said, the place was quite busy with many customers.
We ordered a pizza with two different toppings, lasagna, and gnocchi. The pizza didn’t feel any different from what you’d get at other restaurants. The lasagna was cold in the middle, and the gnocchi seemed like it had just been cut from dough and cooked without much preparation. Nothing felt particularly special. The only upside was the reasonable pricing.
Still, I think it’s worth trying at least once. Also, the complimentary bread served before the meal was delicious.

It’s been years since I’ve had a dining experience worth writing a review about. My mom, husband and I came to Via Roma for our first meal out since losing my stepfather just a few short days ago. Our time there embodied everything that a restaurant experience should be. The food, ambience, and service are cozy, comforting, and absolutely top tier. Upon entering, we received a genuine warm welcome, which set the tone for the deeply personal and engaged service we received for the rest of the night. Every dish that was served to the table was delectable. Not bougie or pretentious— just delicious, soul-soothing Italian comfort classics. What stood out to me most was the way that the staff (especially the gentleman whom I assume is the owner) took the time to have a real conversation and connect with us on a human level. He, and all of the staff, really made us feel like family. Most restaurants these days do the bare minimum— you order, pay, and tip on a tablet, and if you do interact with a human being, you’re lucky if they make eye contact. At Via Roma, it’s evident from the second you walk in that they take pride in creating an experience that heals and warms your heart in every interaction and every bite of food. HUGE thanks to Via Roma for giving my mom a reason to smile, laugh, and actually eat more than just a couple of bites for the first time in weeks. I wish I knew about this place a decade ago. We will be back again and again whenever my husband and I are in town.

Quaint little spot. Great service, greeted by smiles from all of the staff. I ordered the three course dinner with lasagna as the main entree. Food was good, as was the wine. The pizza looked really good as well, I probably should’ve gone with that. Overall good experience, this is a great date spot.

Hidden Gem. Food made fresh and from scratch. Pizza is very good and priced very well. Bigger pizza, better ingredients and much much lower than local places like Old Town Pizza or Round Table. Service is always on top of their game and attentive. Table space can be a challenge. Small dining area.

I loved the environment and service…5/5. And I will be kind by giving an overall 4/5. I came there for the pizza (for the first time) and chose the Via Roma (the choice of pizza). After reading an overall 4.7 average review, I was looking forward to the pizza. Having lived in New York and enjoying Tony’s Pizza Napolentana in San Francisco as well as eating pizza at Naples, Italy (L’antica Pizzaria da Michelle), I was hoping that Via Roma (the store) would have something close. Please don’t hate me but I am kind in giving their signature Via Roma pizza a 3/5. It was a bit salty and the overall quality was unfortunately not even close to places like Tony’s Pizzaria in San Francisco or many other pizzerias I have eaten in NYC and Long Island. Great people and service but the pizza I tried on that day was lacking. Maybe it was a bad day…I will give them that assumption. But that was the impression I left with. Great people and service…but average pizza.
