I have been a customer of this restaurant for 11 years, and the quality and service are always the same: INCREDIBLY GOOD. The waiters and hosts are extremely friendly and pleasant.

Very intimate. Reservations recommended. We were in town and walking by at around 4:53pm on a busy Saturday evening. Doors opened at 5pm. We figured we could wait and ask if they could squeeze us in. The line grew long within 10 minutes. At 5pm sharp, doors opened. They were welcoming and very friendly. They graciously accommodated our party of 2. Our server and assistants were courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. They quickly brought a bread basket and wine. We ordered the lasagna (on the spicier side, and very tasty) and shrimp scampi. Delicious, would absolutely eat here again. Bathrooms were a little dark for my taste, but clean from what I could see.

I’ve been in Austin for 7 years & have craved good Italian. Coming from NYC, I’m spoiled. Today I managed to make it here, a place others have praised. I had a wonderful service experience. Sadly, the food only rises to average among great Italian. Their version of arancini was well cooked but uninteresting on the inside. The tomato sauce was an arrabiata that was quite good. The bolognese was bland & lacking of complexity though the house made paparadelle it came on were excellent. The ciopino was a smaller portion with a good broth but the seafood was over cooked and the fish pieces so small as to be non-existent. A good wine list by the glass made up for a lot. Probably will not run back here.

The waitress seemed very put out when my friend sent back the wine bottle. We asked for a red wine very low in Tannins, and what she gave us was dry and bitter. Maybe it was a language berior. I had only ordered my starter, a lovely beet salad, and the waitress left and didn’t return until our food had been prepared. At which time I was hungry enough to chew off my hand. I tried to place my order, and she said that would take too long. So, I had to order one of the dishes that were quick to make. Food overall was great. I wish I could have gotten the slice of lasagna or a pizza.

I’m not sure if it was when the server threw the chef under the bus by saying “I wouldn’t order that, his recipe is off” when going over menu items or when she condescended to my wife saying “well, we have some lower priced wine, if that’s what you’re worried about” but overall, I learned a $500 lesson – this place is dysfunctional. Service was exquisitely rough (some people just aren’t cut out for it Holly) save the water staff and one gentlemen who went above an beyond. This place definitely is a throwback to how Austin could act when there weren’t many choices on dinner. Now that there are, the only thing it has going for it is the location. Also, every dessert was terrible. So even if she was right about the Chef, you don’t torpedo him to a table of customers.

Beyond amazing. Austin spoils us with amazing food options, and this Austin staple has been around a long time for good reason. One of the best meals I have had in a while. From the killer service (ask for Destiny and all her recommendations will elevate your entire meal) to perfectly blended cocktails (burst of flavors in every sip–seriously talented mixologist over there) to the best Italian in town. The kitchen cooked everything to perfection. The menu is always changing and using fresh, seasonal ingredients in ways you wouldn’t previously considered. But the cooks…clearly talented (insert Italian kiss, hand to lips) Even the busboy is on point refilling your water and removing dirty plates. Make your reservation now. You won’t be disappointed.

Shrimp was fulfilling and flavorful. Bar looks and feels inviting. The wait time was reasonable for the amount of people in restaurant. It is in a populated area. I would say it is a good place to go with someone for a nice dinner.

My wife and i dined for our anniversary. Made res two weeks in advance for Sun 5 pm. Lots of foot traffic outside and parking is limited so we parked in back. Place opens sharply at 5pm. We were greeted nicely and taken to our table and were greeted by Lisette? Wonderful waitress who knew the food, knew the wine and gave us all we asked for. I had Spaghetti Pomodoro and my wife had lasagna. Huge portions. We also tried a cheese pizza that was absolutely delicious. We did not do dessert because we were stuffed. The ambiance and food plus service was exceptional and outstanding. We paid almost one forty for everything. Well worth the price. I would dine there again in a heartbeat because my wife is hard to please. She came away very happy.
