I love it…Guy Smiley & the bar crew have been absolute golden. Mr. Vernon ( out great respect comes the Mr. Part) gives generous portions of food & menu are very friendly. I try to conduct my business lunch or dinner there during certain periods of the day as the place provides enough privacy to conduct a meaningful meeting. Due to covid I feel that businesses feel that they can drive up prices because have become used to paying foolish prices. I have a philosophical difficulty in accepting foolishness. I am glad that Vernon’s tap & grill thinks the same way. Great value for what you get…places like this have become few & far between. Honest people still exist & its exactly what you will find @ Vernon’s.

What to say this place is an old standard for lots of local people.
We had a group of roughly 30 and had fast friendly service, none of this on person eats and others Waite food cam out all at once and with that many that is a challenge.
I had the perch and shrimp really good meal everything cooked just right, but every one’s meal was tasty and cooked right.
Highly recommend !

Today we spent the day in Kingsville ont.
We walked the shops and talked with the locals for lunch/dinner. We decided to go to Vernon’s. we had the homemade meatloaf and pickerel and fries.
The restaurant was very clean and ready for Christmas. We ordered and the food was fast and very hot! It was Amazing! The fish was done to perfection and lots of hot fries! The fries were large not the broken little bits you get at other places, these were long chips and crispy! The Meatloaf was tasty and the mashed potatoes were fresh and not gummy.
What a great meal. We talked with the staff which were friendly, very down home. Stop in if you looking for a very good home made dinner. You will not go away hungry.

Good food, big portions, got a shock when got the bill, a little on the expensive side. Pizza just average, not much cheese or toppings. Took a bite and whole cheese and toppings slid off.

Not a single item was fresh. Even the lettuce on my reheated chicken sandwich was rancid. Everything is from a freezer bag or can . Suspect started when my meal arrived about the time it took to pull the cruddy starch coated fries from the fryer. Didn’t know fries cooked quicker than chicken breast. So reheat it was. I thought, though, I ordered the breaded chicken, but it came out with no crust. Just plain microwaved barely warm chicken pieces. At least that spared me the probable chicken fingers on a bun.Served with a not so homemade pepper sauce and a side of nicely thickened cornstarch variety gravy straight from the box. The sore stomach followed. And the balls to start the tip prompt at 18% . Avoid unless starving to death .

Great food most of the time, service is quick so you don’t wait around for a while, low-cost so you can bring your family or a date and not pay too much, atmosphere is pretty good, can improve in some spots.
