Flash back to the long gone days of the Prohibition Era. Hidden and requiring a password, the ever so popular speakeasy was a place where one could imbibe in their favorite alcoholic beverage. Vernon’s Speakeasy brings back the appeal and ambiance of the long gone speakeasy in new world splendor. Unassuming and hidden behind a large black wooden door under a red light in a corner of the Village Shops @ Los Ranchos, Vernon’s boasts a cozy and intimate dining area serving some of New Mexico’s finest food and libations. Additionally, Vernon’s Black Diamond Lounge (BDL) is the premier venue for live music in Albuquerque and its atmosphere will lure you into a lovely den of artisan cocktails, savory food and intoxicating music.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and the experience was out of this world. The food was delicious and the live music was the perfect compliment to the night. The service was outstanding. The amount of care and the attention to detail that the staff had made our evening so very special. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to celebrate or to have a unique experience, to check this place out, because it is worse the price tag.

I heard this was the #1 Speakeasy in Albuquerque, NM. I believe it is! From calling ahead to get a password, to arriving at the relatively unsuspecting front door, to being greeted by a person in prohibition era clothing and acting, to walking through a hidden door to sitting down in the perfect atmosphere and being attentively attended to by the staff. The food equally matched the service. My new friend, Santo, showed me around the VIP area. Just might become a member. Eddie, the Piano Man, was phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back!

We had the most incredible anniversary dinner at Vernon’s! The ambiance is the coolest and the opening play element with the password was so much fun! Willy potatoes was amazing! Our server, Sterling took the absolute best care of us we felt like royalty! Every single item we tried was amazing and we have zero complaints! The steak was the best I’ve had and their homemade dessert was also the best I’ve had in years. We would happily come back if we are ever in Albuquerque! Thank you to Vernon’s and Sterling!!

This place is worth every penny!! Would go again especially for an anniversary. Josh was a great and had wonderful cocktail and dessert recommendations. Music was spot on and the dark romantic atmosphere was perfect for date night. A fun reason to get dressed up and go out. Also shout out to the doorman! He was a great way to start the experience!

I must say that by far, this was one of the best, dining experiences I’ve ever enjoyed. Jose, and other staff, provided and amazing experience. From the first but of my ribeye steak to the last sip of my smoked Old Fashioned cocktail, it was a phenomenal meal. I simply cannot recommend this place enough! This was the first time for us going to Vernon’s speakeasy, as I’ve lived in this town for 6 years and have not gone there, yet they’re only a mile and a half away from my house. I took this occasion for my significant others birthday as he’s never been there to dine in. The entire experience was elevating! The staff.. absolutely astonishingly wonderful! Everyone was very attentive, the atmosphere and ambience was superb! Now on to the food.. my boyfriend got the elk filet and I got the salmon. The elk was seasoned in the most beautiful way and it was so tender that it was like butter! Every dish that we had from our appetizers, to the complimentary birthday cake which was carefully crafted and handmade by the pastry chef, absolutely incredible! Our taste buds were in heaven!! There was music being played live, and I really loved the door man! He was a hoot!

We had an amazing dinner experience at Vermon’s speakeasy! It was widely recommended by friends for an intimate and romantic dinner date. I’ve never been to a speakeasy and now im a huge fan!
