Booked Valentine’s Day dinner which had a set menu at $90 a person and it definitely was not worth it.
Server was kind. Atmosphere was nonexistent. Food was disappointing.

Absolutely no Valentine’s Day decor. Not even a flower on the table or anything. If a restaurant has a Valentine’s Day menu, I expect at least a candle or something. Lighting was harsh and the opposite of romantic. Music was general pop radio. The restaurant was pretty empty as well, but our table wasn’t ready for us. We felt like we were an inconvenience to staff even though we had a reservation.
Our server was kind though.

No bread service or anything like that. First course was a salad and it was pretty good. Main course was the most disappointing. My boyfriend and I both ordered the surf and turf. Steak was okay, but not much flavor. Lobster tasted like it was from frozen. It was rubbery and chewy with very little flavor. Best part of the entree was the mashed potatoes and even those tasted like they had been sitting out all night. Dessert was good. I had a chocolate mousse and it was exactly what someone would expect from a chocolate mousse.

Overall, wish my boyfriend hadn’t dropped over $200 for such a subpar experience.

I’ve worked in several restaurants and understand that nothing will be perfect, but this experience was underwhelming at best. It felt like the restaurant/hotel forgot that it was Valentine’s Day weekend and just printed an old menu from years past then called it a day. My boyfriend was in town working and I drove down just so we could have a romantic dinner together. Unfortunately, we did not get that while dining here.

While staying at this Marriott a coworker and I grabbed drinks here one evening. The bartender was friendly and helpful. They have a nice selection of wines and make all the typical cocktails. This was an enjoyable visit.

Re: Valentines Day Dinner
Preface: Food was 5 stars.
Beautiful high glass wall looking out toward a great natural water feature.

And you set your prearranged valentine’s day special seating next to a dirty rubber roof with no view.
So incredibly embarrassing.
I can cook my own filet just fine.
$300 for 2 to sit in the back corner of an empty restaurant is unacceptable and it ruined the experience.

I absolutely enjoyed my experience for Sunday Brunch today at Vermont’s Restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was prepared perfectly and very tasteful. I had a party of 14 and everyone was thoroughly satisfied. We were celebrating a birthday today and things turned out so well. We all definitely plan to attend Sunday Brunch again and again. Thank you so much for an exceptional time.

Chef Riley is amazing and I’m glad I got to enjoy his inspired Feast for Rabbits. Not only was everything delicious, but it was an entirely vegan menu! A one of a kind experience that I would recommend to anyone.

The four of us went for Valentine’s dinner. We sat for a while until we had to let our server know we were ready to place our order. Three of us had to return our soup because it was cold. I asked for a 2nd cup of coffee and it came out cold, so I didn’t drink it. Once the food came out it was cold. I then asked for a to go box, I will heat it up tomorrow for lunch. Just didn’t wish to keep complaining. Maybe it was just tonight because I’ve been here times before without any complaints. I will come again.

I chose Vernons based on the reviews I have read, many of which seem to be on the plus side. Our party of 8 is a monthly dinner group and the reviews were sort of mixed. We began with drinks at the bar and during happy hour drinks with hosue brands are actually a good value. I ordered a drink with Tito’s and my wife ordered a prosecco. Was surprised the bill was $23 before tip! Others in the party ordered happy hour branda and paid around $10 for two drinks. The bar, at least during the time we were there, was understaffed and it took forever to get our orders in as the bartender was managing a table of 10 women along with another 10 at the bar. so service was rathger slow and he was not very attentive. Around 6:15pm he did get help and service picked up.

The ambiance is quite nice. Comfortable seating a wonderful view by the windows which overlook a small lake and waterfalls. It was also amazingly quiet as the restaurant was not full. Maybe because our group eats earlier than most. Reservations were at 6:00PM and we left the bar aat about 6:25PM.

Most of the group enjoyed their meals. The filet, while a bit on the small side, (could they spare it?), was flavorful. Although if you’re going to serve steak a 1/2 mile down the road from Ruth’s Chris, you should at least be competitive on portion size. the Grouper (Tender and flakey) was enjoyed by two folks however a third thought it was overcooked and dry, there was more rice than anything else & the whole dish was rather bland. The special was a pan seared flounder and that person said the portion was actually too large to finish but the dish was quite tasty. Two of us had the frutti de Mare which include scallops, prawn and lobster. I have to say the seafood was had excellent flavor albeit bordered on slightly under-cooked. The seafood rested on a bed of bucatini in a cream sauce which was tasty but a bit too thick and heavy. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Withe a party of 8, the service charges were included in the bill and they happily provided separate bills for each couple.

In the end, Vernon’s is worthy of a second chance. Mt three star rating may be hard on Vernon’s but I tend to be a low star grader unless a place is exceptional.

Felt like I was in a Delta lounge. Our server poured coffee once and never saw her again. I had 5 plates piles with other garbage. The server gave us a discount because of this but I still felt obligated to tip. I left 20% tip, I really should have left 0%. Was pretty sad. There is obviously no team work. Any one of the servers that were working other tables could have jumped in….serious guys, I was an F&B manager for years, none of my team would work like this.

My fried eggs from the buffet were asked for over easy but steamed on one side , browned bad on the other.

Kids using hands on the buffet, gross. There was a hard boiled egg on the buffet that appeared to have had a bite taken out and placed back on the buffet. A server was told but we are not sure they understood.

Others ordered off the menu, but when they got their food, it looked exactly like the buffet food.

The quality of food was not there. Just typical lounge food. The service was absolutely not there. This is one of the reasons I usually eat off property.

We went to Vernon’s because we wanted a buffet style brunch. Waited “forever” to be acknowledged and seated. The musician playing was a nice touch. The buffet food selection was adequate and typical of a hotel buffet breakfast. Some upgrades included chicken and waffles and peel and eat shrimp. Smoked salmon was delicious, as were the scrambled eggs. Made to order eggs and omelets were available, as were “make your own” pancakes and waffle stations were somewhat hidden behind the main buffet line with no signage indicating its availability. Some disappointments – french toast looked and tasted like plain toast, and no signage for syrup. Bacon was a joke for the price of any buffet. A whole pan of overcooked, almost burnt bacon. They should never have been brought out. Bright spot – service was excellent. Another negative- parking, and how to get out of their lot, is a mess. No signage anywhere about the price to park for dining (do they really charge for parking to dine?). Overall, not a 4 star or 5 star experience.
