Hello There
My wife and I loved it here. We came on a Saturday for lunch and loved it so much we went back the next Friday for dinner. The food is absolutely outstanding; I recommend the seared crab cake, any of the fish entrees, the soups, and any of the toast for lunch (chicken salad was the best chicken salad I’ve ever had, and the French onion soup toast was also excellent). Salads were phenomenal, fresh, bright, just the right amount of dressing. I loved the pear salad with blue cheese.
The vibe is great, but if you’re looking for something quiet, be aware you’ll get the noise from surrounding hopscotch and the other establishments. But we thought this made for a fun and lively time, as there was live music at hop scotch, and prior to that, great music from the overhead speakers. We brought our own wine and beer, but looks like you can order drinks from hopscotch and they’ll bring them over, which is really cool. Love to see businesses working together like this.
The service was exceptional. They were very busy but our server paced the meals perfectly and everything came out within a reasonable time. We were impressed by how relaxed the chef looked despite cooking for a ton of people (he never broke a sweat!). Everyone working here was pleasant and really passionate about the place.
The dessert (chocolate mouse) was amazing, as is their French press coffee.
Vernafern has been my absolute favorite place to eat lately; we frequent Vela, Heirloom, and a few places in Lambertville and New Hope. And this really has been such a punch of freshness and flavor that we will be regulars.
Highly recommend giving Vernafern a chance, easily a 5/5 on both our visits.

Really wish I had taken better photos of our food, but honestly… the second the plates hit the table, everyone just went for it. That’s how good it was. These pictures definitely don’t do our lunch justice.
I’m not even exaggerating when I say this is the best American food I’ve had on the East Coast. Vernafern is such a hidden gem.
The Verna Burger was SO good. Juicy, packed with flavor, and just incredibly satisfying. The pork belly is what makes it stand out. Highly recommend it!
The for the fries was creamy but not heavy at all. Just the right amount of garlic and smoothness.
And the crabcakes… just sweet, fresh crab with a light crisp on the outside, paired with the most perfect tartar sauce. So good.
You can really tell the chef cares. Everything made with heart and passion. Such a genuinely delightful dining experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Such a special restaurant . Whether sitting at the countertop overlooking the chef master, his dishes were sitting at a table in the restaurant, the vibe is so special in our marketplace in Doylestown. From the small plate to the main dish, everything is fresh, plated beautifully, and the taste is spectacular.
The menu is always changing for the better. We started with the duck, confit cannoli, the fresh Parmesan cream on the side was spectacular, it was nothing we’ve ever had before. We then shared the Swedish meatballs, something my husband remembers growing up on and truly enjoyed We shared the Fusilli with toasted walnut, praline, goat cheese crumbles, and a butternut squash, balsamic brodo; it did not disappoint. Chef Justin takes pride in every guest that comes through, every herb and every dish he masterfully creates. His sous chef Aaron is his right hand man, a true part of the culinary creations we so enjoyed. And with a smile and great service, we must mention Lisa who is a wonderfully attentive and friendly hostess/server.
Doylestown is fortunate to have this wonderful restaurant .

Stopped in for the first time over the weekend for lunch and really enjoyed it. Sat at the bar/counter and was interesting to watch the chef making all the dishes.
The calamari was great and the chili-garlic marinara was really awesome. Ordered the crab cake app and it was also delicious.
Went again for lunch this week and tried the burger, also fantastic. Weird as it may sound, the pickle that came with the burger was probably the best one I’ve ever had.
Definitely worth a try!

Vernafern is Michelin quality in waiting. The freshness of the ingredients, everything cooked to order and served perfection, coupled with the attention to detail make this an exceptional restaurant. I visited for lunch, having the turkey club sandwich with potato salad on the side. Absolutely outstanding. And, tremendous value for money. I would highly recommend and revisit again (pinning this one in maps).

We absolutely adore Vernafern. From the first time we visited on a whim – doing a double order of their special of duck potsticker, to their never fail depiction roast chicken – Chef Justin always delivers inventive yet classic comfort food. We have dined for casual Tuesday nights, to special occasions, to farmers market breakfast Sandi’s, the entire staff has become, as cliche as it sounds, like family. We always feel welcomed a know we’re getting a memorable meal. This is once hidden gem is becoming a Doylestown staple and absolutely love to see it!!!

Vernafern is a Great addition to Doylestown Main Streets Food Scene. We were there for a Sunday Brunch. We ordered Crab Cakes and Cheesy Grits to start. My Husband and I both like the crab cakes, It has the right amount of crunch on the outside and a tasty center the Tartar Sauce and the Dill was a nice added flavor (Dill was added as garnish BUT make sure to eat it with the crab cakes). The grits were fine. It’s grits. My Husband ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict and It look good and taste great. I had the Swanson Platter. I like ordering Platters and this one, did not disappoint. The sausages were full of flavor unfortunately my Grilled Petite Filet was a bit chewy and my bacon were not crispy as I like it to be other wise it was a generous plate worth ordering. Being able to order drinks at the bar next door and or BYOB was a plus. Staff were friendly. We’ll Definitely come back and try more dishes.

The service is great and the servers know the menu. I felt like they genuinely like working there. The area it is in is perfect; there are multiple restaurants in the same building and a bar just next to the restaurant where you can get a tasty margarita. The food was very tasty but I marked it down a star. The fish and chips don’t have a flaky crispy fried crust and the fish is kinda dry. The pasta needed more garlic and a pinch of spices. My family did clean off our plates….

Verna Fern is a great restaurant and the food here is consistently good. I have been here 5 times-with friends, couples, family and for date night with the Hubs. There is always something new and interesting to try. It’s a BYOB with great ambience, located inside the Marketplace in Dtown, across from Hopscotch and next to Side Bar. If you don’t BYO, libations are available from the neighboring establishments. Check out the pics!
