My wife loves this place and our family has been coming here for decades.
The food has always been acceptable; let’s face it, a restaurant wouldn’t survive this long without decent food.
I am writing because the prices have become unreasonable. Only a dessert, a starter, a Garden Salad or drink comes in under $20.
They could reduce the pasta portion sizes and the cost.
As for the pizza, there’s nothing that happens on a flat bread that’s worth $41.90 except extortion.

Family business where you’ll discover amazing Italian authentic Italian cuisine served by attentive wait staff.

The portions are very big. We tend to order 1 between 2.

Great place for dinner! The food was really yummy, the service staff were very nice too. We were coming from Sydney and wanted dinner and it definitely hit the spot!
Warning however that the portion sizes for the pasta is super big! You definitely get your money’s worth. We both didn’t finish our food and they gave us containers for free to take it home which was lovely.
Would recommend sharing a pasta and an entree of you are coming with others.

Hard to believe this place got more than 3 stars. Food is mediocre, unauthentic and expensive. Ambiance is meh and so is the service. It’s only survived this long because historically Novocastrians didn’t really have much choice and had to put up with this kind of stuff. Not anymore, thank goodness. Looks like it’s temporarily closed so hopefully something better will replace it.

You have to try this place. Make sure you book table! Omfg just amazing.

Bruschetta for starters beautiful.
Main was creamy chilli prawns die for!! I’d lick the bowl if I could have. My partner got the steak and he said it was amazing and cooked perfectly. I also got the spaghetti Cabaonra which was done so well.

Affogato is a MUST have. It finished the meal off perfectly.

Thank you for an amazing dinner unfortunately I might have to share my left overs.

Where do I start with Verda Luna. It is just an amazing authentic family restaurant. I’ll start with the service. The team are welcoming, warm, friendly, and kind.

The food is outstanding and massive portions (always enough for takeaway). You can truly taste the years of love and dedication that has gone into mastering the true flavours that are shown in every dish.

On our last visit we took our elderly Grandmother, who can sometimes be picky with the menu, but this was no problem for the fantastic staff. They were accommodating, patient, warm and friendly with her and made her feel like just part of the family. My Grandmother still talks about “That lovely lady that served her that night”.

Absolute favourite Italian and Mediterranean restaurant in all of Newcastle. Really wondering when the renovations are going to be finished as it’s been a long year not being able to bring the family here again.

The quantity was good, but the quality was not what I expected at that price. Furthermore, the garden salad was extremely basic; it consisted of just one tomato sliced into 4 pieces, some pieces of cucumber,a few slices of onion, and some lettuce. I felt it was too simple,
I ordered the Boscaiola pasta and the Garden Salad

Simple dishes. Full of flavour. No nasties. Service in the midst of Covid19 was amazing. The atmosphere is enjoyed by all. The place is booked out a lot and it’s obvious why. Overall beautiful meal. Yeah OK it’s not the cheapest eat in town but it’s also not the most expensive. Just enjoy it once and find out yourself.

Ok… 3 years ago made that review… Went back again. My God this place is good… Can’t beleive we waited 3 years to do it though. I gotta go back just for pizza… Hmmm. Wonder if they are open today. Yummy. This time I have pictures though.
