The restaurant is located at a prime location within the market with nice ambience and ample seating capacity. The staff including the owner Tavishi takes a lot of effort to explain the thought or concept behind the dish. If you’re visiting this place to get Indian Cuisine 101 lessons, then this is the place for you. However, if you are going there to celebrate any occasion or for food, then this place might not hit the right notes. Portion sizes are way too small and none of the dishes are out of the box. The fancy name doesn’t compensate for the lack of flavours. We really loved the drinks though but those are also on a very expensive side. My final thought in one sentence- If the food is really good, then it doesn’t require a speech to explain its history, concept or whatever for the patrons to like it.

The food menu was quite unique. We tried the ghee roast prawns — slightly on the saltier side, but the flavour was authentic and absolutely delicious. The Goan chicken had a distinct masala flavour; it was good, though it could have been a bit more juicy. The bun maska was next level — not your typical one at all. It paired beautifully with the ghee roast prawns and is a definite must-try.
For drinks, we had the Kerala Gold cocktail, which was perfect, and the Amrood Mary was incredibly refreshing, especially on a hot day.
What truly stood out for us was the attention given by the owners. They were genuinely warm and interested in their customers, something you don’t come across very often. It really made the experience special.

We wanted a cozy spot to sit, chat, and enjoy some good food. On the server’s recommendation, we ordered the litti chokha—she said it’s delicious and one of their most popular dishes. She also suggested a mocktail called “Nuske,” which we tried.
**To start with:**
* The prices were high for very small portions.
* The kids’ burger had a flat aloo tikki that was burnt on the sides and served cold. And that too for both burgers.
* The fries were cold as well and lacked any crunch.
When that wasn’t disappointing enough, the litti chokha had everything except flavor. Litti wasnt fervent enough. It came with no chutney, no onion salad—nothing. When I asked why the chutney was missing, I was told that to keep it a “snack-sized” plate and within budget, they removed the tomato chutney. That reasoning was baffling—like saying you won’t serve onions and chutney with pav bhaji to keep it snack size and in restaurants budget!!! How strange is that and really don’t know why a pro chef would ever agree to this!
About the drink-photos attached!
It was served in a martini glass but filled only one-quarter of the way—for $11. Honestly, that shouldn’t even be marketed as a drink; it was more like a tiny shot, even smaller than a tequila. I am sure they trying to invent snack size mocktails too within budget..
Overall, a very disappointing experience. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is receiving 4-star ratings.
As an Indian, and someone whose family runs multiple successful restaurants – from dhabas to fine dining in cities like Gurgaon and Noida India, I can tell when a place is not delivering what it promises. In my view, this restaurant won’t last long for three main reasons:
* Tasteless food with extremely small portions
* Positioning itself as innovative Indian cuisine without doing justice to even one regional style—experimentation works only when the basics are mastered
* A clear lack of understanding of customer expectations—overpromising and underdelivering is never a good strategy. Customer is not fool.
Unfortunately, not an experience I would recommend. As a big time foodie, and in food industry for so long my 2 cents are – spend your hard earned 16$ at Mad mex next door and not on a small tasteless plate of 18-20$

We visited for the first time yesterday to sample the Valentine’s Day menu. First up – truly commend the team for celebrating the diversity of Indian cuisine. Started off really well – the watermelon drink, papad and dips, the puchka, the dahi kebabs, the sev usal . It was great to see that there was a focus on explaining the origin of the food item and how it made it to the menu . Enjoyed the hosting and explanations from Tavishi , with able support from Reva, Sanaya and Namrata. A couple of items towards the end missed their mark a bit but all round I left with a good feeling and will be back again to try their regular menu on hopefully a warmer evening.

Excellent service. Special call out for Namrata who explained the menu and the food very well to us and took great care of us throughout. The menu is very different (in a good way) from any other Indian restaurant you would have known with some authentic Indian dishes served. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The prawns are highly recommended, so is the Thandai kulfi in the desserts section. Give it a go and enjoy!

I had the most incredible dining experience at Veranda Indian Kitchen & Bar in Douse Hill. The food was absolutely soul-touching — a beautiful fusion of Indian flavors with an authenticity that’s hard to find. Every dish carried such depth and balance, I felt like I was experiencing Indian cuisine in a whole new way.
Special mention to Tavishi, who hosted us with such warmth and care that it truly felt like being welcomed into a family. The cocktails were another highlight — I rarely indulge in so many, but each one was packed with flavor and creativity, offering a unique taste you don’t find elsewhere.
From start to finish, it was a 10/10 experience — exceptional food, wonderful drinks, and heartfelt hospitality. I can’t wait to return with my family, and I highly encourage anyone to visit without missing out.

Not your usual Indian restaurant — it’s truly unique. Every dish has its own incredible flavours and aromas, beautifully prepared and presented. Tavishi and Abhi have clearly put in an exceptional amount of effort to create something special. It goes beyond authentic. I only wish I could give it more than five stars.
