It was my husband’s birthday, and he was taking me out to lunch for his birthday. He suggested Ventura, which I had never been to. Living and surrounding areas, I can’t believe I’ve never been to Ventura‘s Café in Northfield. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The waiter was fast, efficient, polite, and accommodating. We ordered French onion soup, which I did not get a picture of, but it was probably the best French onion soup I’ve ever had. We ordered the triple Thai, which came with shrimp, spareribs, and chicken tenders in this wonderful Thai sauce.The next thing that we had was our entrées and my husband ordered the Smashburger and I ordered the Naan fish Taco. We loved the food. So much so that I forgot to take pictures at the beginning of the meal and I just took pictures during and after. I cannot wait to go back again and take friends with me to experience Venturas . And the cocktails were delicious. I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area of Northfield.. My Husband’s a Smashburger, the cheese and the way the burger is cooked just hit perfectly because I had to steal a bite. My Naan fish taco Was delicious and light Perfectly made. And the fries, I can’t say enough about the perfectness of the fries. The crispy outside the tender inside the flavor. So good.

First off, shout out to general manager , Lou! (Loved the pants!) Thank you! He stopped by our table randomly , chatted with us , comped us an amazing desert. Lou didn’t know we’ve been eating at offshore for a long time. It was my parents favorite place. The pizza is outstanding! Mussels, eggplant, Caesar salad etc. all very good. Service there is always top notch. Even the food runners are so nice. I love this place. Highly recommend! Ps. Try the crab cakes and chicken parm!

I have eaten here multiple times and never disappointed. The eggplant parm is probably the best anywhere but tonite I had the salmon creole and I thought I died and went to heaven. The combination of asparagus and rice and corn with the salmon was sheer perfection. Highly recommend.

Their food has always been good, however their selection seems a bit more scarce lately. The last time I went I had this pasta dish with meat sauce and the presentation wasn’t great. It looked unappetizing and it overall didn’t taste all that well wither. Plus they used to offer you bread and pizza bread, now you have to pay to get the pizza bread. They knew how popular it was that it now had a price on it.

I really wanted to like this restaurant from all the good reviews but it was a miss for me. We came on a Saturday night so that 30 min wait was understandable. I ordered a glass of wine and my waitress totally forgot until I reminded her. It took over an hour for our main course to come out. The waitress double charged me for one appetizer and I asked for my sauce on my pasta to be substituted. The waitress never mentioned there would be fee for this let alone an $8 fee which cost more than our entire kids meal. There were gnats all over our table. A manager came over and we explained that the waitress double charged us and failed to mention the fee. The manager apologized and said that the ingredients for Alfredo sauce have gone up. Truly terrible customer service and we will not be back.

I wanted to like this place more but….. my meal was average and more importantly I was not expecting the ‘slight up-charge’ to change my sauce from traditional marinara to vodka bush to be an extra $5.00! Slight up charge I expected was more like $2.00. So my advice would be if there’s a “slight up-charge” you better ask what slight is!!!???? Also, took my mother who uses a walker and there was a motorcycle, parked at the entrance to the ramp to get into the restaurant blocking access for anyone using a walker or needing assistance.

Was seated promptly on Memorial Day in a side room booth. The area was clean with a nice atmosphere. A good mix of modern and early 00s pop and alternative music played. Our table was candlelit.
The short rib grilled cheese looked fantastic, and the seasoned steak frites are great. I had the roasted beet salad that comes well dressed and tossed with goat cheese, freshly shaved parm, tomatoes, toasted walnuts, and fresh mandarin oranges… Maybe something else I’m forgetting. Very yummy, glad I didn’t have to tossit myself.
Our server was super speedy, but did forget a side of ranch and also wasn’t friendly, per se. He was very focused, but not super cordial.
Overall, good experience. I’d like to come to the bar for happy hour specials next time!
