First time visit to this new restaurant in my neighborhood and we were not disappointed. Our wait person Lisa was friendly and accommodating. Let’s talk about the food calamari for an appetizer was five out of five stars. We are picky calamari eaters, and we loved the warm marinara and the calamari. We were surprised when we got family style Italian salad as we did not know it was included in the price of our meal. It was fabulous. I got eggplant Parmesan with a side of pasta also included, and my husband got Shrimp scampi. We usually bring home 1/2 our meals but we ate all of it! Did I mention the warm bread served with a side of herbed butter and a generous serving of marinara. We read the reviews but thought “let’s give them a try”. Glad we did. You will be busy during snowbird season. Also had a bottle of Pinot Grigio. All this for $100.58. I’d say this is a great bargain and the food was delish! Best of success in your new location.

So happy that these new owners took this place over! It’s so close to where we live so it’ll be our go-to for Italian food when I’m not cooking it myself:) We tried a slice of cheese pizza to begin, just to see if we’d order pizza from here in the future. The answer was definitely! The pizza was delicious pizza and had a nice thin, crispy crust and tasty cheese. We also had the eggplant rollatini appetizer which was excellent as well and served very hot in a casseroledish. The main course of veal canneloni was exceptional and came with a very nice salad and good bread with a side of both garlic butter and marinara. Lisa gave us great service and we already look forward to visiting again. If you read any of the negative reviews, ignire them. Some people just don’t know good authentic Italian food and just want to complain for the sake of complaining. It’s definitely worth a try.

Mixed bag from our experience. Waiter who seemed like we were a bother more than patrons forgot food orders even after writing it down and asking twice. His entire demeanor was not what one expects being a food server. When asked for anything out of the norm the answer was “no”. Pizza was good but the cheesesteak lacked flavor and cheese. Pasta dish was swimming in oil with 0 flavor. I’m sure you can do better. We will not be back.
Your response was abnormal in the fact you don’t seem a bit concerned. No effort to apologize or say you would make it right. Your answer is literally turned back on us, the customer. Very odd.

As a native New Yorker who has lived in Florida for the last four years, I can confidently say that Ventrua’s offers one of the best pizzas I’ve had here.
I highly encourage everyone to try it. Debra, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Places like this deserve our hard-earned dollars.

Unfortunately we did not like our food. The Garlic bread was like a brick with no garlic taste at all. The pasta was mush and the sauce was tasteless. The meatball hero was ice cold. However, on a good note the Grandma Sicilian pizza was amazing!

Pizza on Cortez was overcooked and thin on toppings. Love the pizza on longboat. Salads ordered minus onion and came with full onion. Attention to detail is missing. Nice folks, but disappointed in the meal on Cortez. Great experience on long boat for sure!

This place is conveniently located next to the movie theater. Service is great. Lisa took great care of us. They even have a VIP program to earn credit for dining there. They serve good beer and wine but they could really benefit from a liquor license to make this place even better.

Had the pleasure of dining at Ventura’s for the first time recently as a date night with my wife, and the only thing better than the food was the top notch service received by our server Ethan. We were celebrating our anniversary and he went above and beyond to ensure our night was special. The atmosphere and food were superb, and we’re so grateful we dined here. If you’re looking for your next favorite Italian spot in town, look no further than Ventura’s and be sure to ask for Ethan, you’re won’t be sorry!

The chicken wings were prepared using old darkened meat with a bad taste.
The Sicialian Pizza took forty five minutes to prepare and was served without sauce and burned on the bottom. Inedible!
Management took 15 percent off the bill, how generous!
Absolutely will not go back or recommend this place to anyone I consider a friend. AWFUL!
