This place is average at best. The service is great, but the food itself is just OK. The mexi cali Taco was the best thing we had, and the chicken tikka taco was decent too.
When you pay $15+ for chips and three dips, You expect them to be great. The guacamole was just average at best, the queso was not warm, and the roasted salsa was well below average.
The place was clean, and the workers were nice but I probably wouldn’t go back.

We just touched down and needed to pick a spot to eat and we landed on velvet taco! The vibe is cool and eclectic, and even at that evening hour they had a nice crowd. The staff were kind and friendly too!
I got the special of the week—a gyro taco— and the fish n chips taco with a side of queso. He got the gyro taco as well and corn elote. The gyro taco was our absolute fave! The queso was so gooey and delicious, and the corn elote was everything too even though it wasn’t on the cob.
They have tacos, bowls, nachos… a really versatile menu suitable for any hungry person! They also have this velvet cake that I plan to get during my next visit—yes, we will be back!

Absolute hit. Shoutout to Jerry, the gentleman who helped me was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience even better. The food? Ridiculously delicious and came out steaming hot. The vibe here is on point, fun, lively, and welcoming. Velvet Taco does not miss. I’ll 100% be back.

Great food! As you can see, devoured that. I got the birria tacos duo, mandarin jarritos and a velvet cake to finish off the meal. Lupe was also nice and helpful! Anyways, if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, I’d come here!

I had such a great experience at Velvet Taco today. Benjamin was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. He even surprised me with a slice of red velvet cake on the house, which absolutely made my day. It’s rare to meet someone who genuinely enjoys taking care of customers, and he really went above and beyond. Thank you, Benjamin, I’ll definitely be coming back!

We went Sunday after ACL and it was packed but the service (shoutout to my girl Brianna!!!) and food was amazing. Great tacos for the price! Highly recommend giving this place a shot ! I ordered from the veg and bf got the chicken tacos. Was so good!!!

Well, I really enjoyed my taco here. You can’t really give this place five stars. Nice tacos, fast service, creative Indian Mexican combinations the chicken think a taco is actually quite nice but after all of these, it is fast food and that’s what you stay with after you leave the restaurant.

10/10, dynamic creative tacos, tiki masala taco is out of control! A lot of people talk about good tacos in Austin, this the best selection. The take out comes in beautiful to go. This place does not get the love it deserves!

This place has amazing tacos, the place and atmosphere is super vibrant and cool. The Waffle taco special was amazing and my Buffalo Chicken taco too. The Buffalo Chicken taco is very spicy and has a nice kick to it. Lastly the margaritas are fantastic here! The staff here is super friendly here and shoutout to Benjamin who was super nice and helpful. Also he gave my brother a free red velvet cake which was super nice! I would highly recommend coming here for some good tacos!!!!!
