Food was mediocre for a small town restaurant. We were in the restaurant by ourself. Food took a long time but we were patient. We ordered 3 meals and my two young daughters only had a side salad.
We were not provided a paper copy of our bill. We paid and as we left realized it sounded like too much. But they close for an afternoon time and they had already locked the doors and would not answer the phone.
We called again later and it Turns out the manager was our server added gratuity to our bill of 3 adults and two kids. Again the two young girls ordered a side salad and water. Whatever I guess. BUT we were not provided a paper receipt and we were not informed of the gratuity charge so we had already generously tipped her.

Was there in off hours, nobody but me. Took my order immediately, came out quickly, best bacon cheeseburger I’ve had in a while. Fries seasoned and perfect. Looking forward to taking my wife.

Quiet when we went in. The fried boudain was average. Salad that came with the meals were a little stale. The shrimp was cooked correctly and had a good flavor. The tea glasses were large and the waitress was on the ball with keeping us happy. Service has greatly improved since my last visit.

The service was excellent. Super friendly and accommodating. The food was good, but we were a bit disappointed – and our fault for not asking – but it was all fried. We realized later we were not asked how we wanted it prepared, so maybe fried was the only option. We should have asked if we could get the shrimp & fish grilled. Totally tasty, just not as healthy as we would have liked. Onion rings are excellent!

My husband & I have eaten there three times. My husband got each time frog legs. I have had crab cakes, oysters or fish. Very tasty! Service is excellent. No complaints!

The place was empty and quiet when we arrived about 6pm. The waitress was helpful. Crab cake was greasy, flat and we did not taste nor see any crab, the shrimp a bit overcooked. We are so disappointed that we came to the ocean for seafood and settled for catfish. Guess the chef was off that night…

The customer service on the phone was extremely rude. When we went to pick up the food the lady was acting impolite as well. Didn’t leave a tip because of the horrible attitude and she had the audacity to mumble “of course, no tip”. The food was good, well done for the kitchen staff! But the customer service needs a huge improvement!

I have used The Shack several times to feed our athletes and every time I am very satisfied with their food and service. They go out of their way to offer the best quality meals for them at a discounted rate. Most of the time I order ahead and food is warm and waiting for us when we get there. We will continue to order from them.
