The food was just meh. The service was not good during our visit. Let’s start with the service, I think we got a new waiter, he might or might not be the owner’s son. We ordered the appetizer first with our drink orders, while we decide on our entrée. He then proceed to ask “Is that it?” We were kind of taken back by that. We then told him that we were going to decide on the entrée. Then he replied “Ok.” It was like he either didn’t know anything about being a server or he just didn’t want to be there. Oh well.

We had such a lovely time here tonight and I cannot believe I haven’t been here before! This might be my new hangout spot. What lovely staff, delicious drinks and food, ideal location, lovely decor and ambiance. Management goes out of their way to make you feel at home and even give excellent recommendations for the best dishes and drinks. Tonight we had fresh crab stuffed mushrooms and spinach pastry. We had cocktails and wine and each was more delicious than the next. This is such a hidden gem in old town and I cannot wait to be back to see Charles, Johnny, and Theodora.

New in the neighborhood, and we’ve always noticed Vaso’s Kitchen and wondered what the food tasted like. So on Monday, we ordered via Ubereats from Vaso’s Kitchen (Old Town Alexandria), which was one of the best food decisions ever. Am definitely not a pizza person, but their original homemade Greek-style pizza sold me! It was fresh, juicy, and absolutely delicious. Everything else we ordered, from the hummus and pita bread to the Spanakotiropita (Spinach and Feta Cheese Baked in filo dough), was a perfect hit, and we were sold cause this has to become our new go-to place.

The food is tasty, and the service is also good. However, USD 38 each for the scallop pasta – only featured two medium size scallops and champignons (not even porcinis), and the shrimp stuffed with crabmeat which as you can see were tiny, was exorbitant! Yes I understand inflation blah blah blah but this isn’t even a fancy place. It’s super casual.

I went with a group, and everything was good. Their shrimp scampi, vodka pasta, and veal was delicious.

We had a great time! We had passed by while strolling Old Town and knew that we wanted to come here to celebrate something nice. I celebrated my graduation and was not disappointed. Penny was a delight and gave us a great history of the place, her family, and insight into family recipes. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon. The house wines, moussaka, and bread were particularly great.

Very disappointed in this restaurant. First they reported we did not show to OpenTable. The food was ok. I had the Veal Piccata and my wife had the Filet of Flounder. Both basic piccata dishes. The real disappointment was the side, basically canned peas in tomato sauce. The restaurant is a bit run down and off the charts loud.

Almost great, the ambiance is lovely! However the service was a bit to relaxed for lunch service and when getting a side of pasta with your poultry dish it comes with meat sauce. This is not on the menu but seemed to be customary. I didn’t find that the two would go together so I kindly sent it back.

The restaurant was simply a good time. I had, I think it’s called the chicken parmagiana (or something similar), and it was very delicious. The staff was great, and the atmosphere feels welcoming. 2 out of 2 thumbs up, would recommend to a friend.
