We eat here everyday. Literally…every…day. The combination of value and delicious homemade meals cannot be matched in today’s economy. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner; El Maguey has it all.
To top it off, they are a family-owned business with great people there. Steph always takes great care of us, and Sonia’s cooking is amazing! If you’re looking for a simple place that offers affordable yet delicious meals, I don’t think you can do better than El Maguey. Can’t recommend it enough.

I stumbled upon this cozy Salvadoran/Mexican spot just a block from my job, and I’m glad I did! It’s a small, welcoming place where you’re greeted with a warm smile as soon as you walk in. The restaurant is family-run, with three generations—grandmother, mother, and daughter—running the show. You can truly feel the care they put into both their food and their service.
I originally ordered a Grilled Chicken Salad and a couple of Pupusas Revueltas. The salad was fresh, well-balanced, and packed with flavor. The pupusas? Absolutely delicious — hot, cheesy, perfectly crispy on the outside, and generously filled. Served with traditional tomato salsa and curtido, they were comforting and satisfying in every bite. After trying them a few more times, I can confidently say their pupusas are consistently on point.
On another visit, I tried their baleadas, and they did not disappoint. Soft, warm flour tortillas layered with creamy beans, cheese, and other classic toppings — simple but incredibly flavorful and comforting.
Most recently, I had their chicharrón strips with guacamole, and that’s another must-order. Perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and paired with fresh, creamy guac — the crunch alone makes them worth it.
The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the quality is consistently fantastic. Whether you’re looking for breakfast or lunch, this place is always a solid choice.
Highly recommend El Maguey Restaurant if you’re in the area.

If you’re craving authentic Salvadoran cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The pupusas were nothing short of amazing — each bite bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked and served hot from the griddle. The fresh juice complemented the meal beautifully, refreshing and full of natural sweetness. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. You can truly taste the care and tradition in each dish, as if it’s made fresh from the fire directly to your table. The entire experience felt genuine and satisfying, leaving us eager to return for more.

We’ve been here a few times now and the food has been incredible every time. The quality is really good, the sizes are on the larger side, and the price is affordable during a time where nothing is affordable.
I’m a fan of the burritos but their pupusas are a must as well. Would definitely recommend and we will be going back.

Amazing pupusas, which came with very tasty pickled vegetables and cabbage salad. We also got the Salvadorian breakfast (served all day) which was delicious. Fast, friendly service.

At the moment, four-stars, even though they just opened. Friendly service, clean dining and kitchen areas, and nice basic atmosphere. In the weeks since my first review, they have new signage, an increase in foot traffic, and a slowly growing reputation for authentic Salvadoran and Latin food.

Love this place. Carne asada was awesome. Beans, pico de gallo, side salad, and rice were all good too. The woman who took my order was very sweet. Seating is very casual but clean. Definitely a place that’s on my short list in the area.
