I ordered pizza for a group of girls who had not eaten all day. What arrived was cold, not what was ordered (not cheese), and worst of all, a slice was already missing, making it appear the food had been tampered with. That alone is a serious food safety issue.
When I contacted the owner, it somehow got worse. The owner was rude, dismissive, and hung up on me multiple times instead of addressing the problem. They refused to issue a refund, showed zero concern for food safety, and took no responsibility.
Serving food that appears partially eaten and then hanging up on a customer who raises a legitimate concern is completely unacceptable. If you value basic hygiene, customer service, or being treated with respect, do not order from here!!!
I live less than half a mile from the restaurant, yet my GrubHub order took over two hours with repeated delays. I did not ask for the order to be canceled. I specifically asked GrubHub not to cancel it and requested a refund back to my card because of the excessive delay. Instead, GrubHub canceled the order anyway and issued me a credit that can only be used on GrubHub and expires in 90 days.
Because the order was canceled against my wishes, when I finally drove to the restaurant myself in a snowstorm, Vasilos Pizza said they could not give me the order since it was marked canceled in their system. I was forced to place a brand-new order and wait again.
The end result:
• ~$70 spent on GrubHub
• ~$50 spent directly at the restaurant
• Remaining money stuck as GrubHub credits
• 15+ minutes on the phone with GrubHub support
• Now needing to call my credit card company to dispute charges
I understand GrubHub caused most of this, but once I was physically in the restaurant after everything that happened, I expected some level of flexibility or customer care instead of being sent back to square one.
Food aside, this was a brutal customer experience, and it’s one I won’t be repeating.
Also paying in-store was $45 versus paying on GrubHub was $70. This entire situation was chaotic and exhausting, largely due to GrubHub—but unfortunately it still reflects poorly on Vasilos Pizza because of how it was handled in person.
