Located on the second floor of the new Hilton Norfolk The Main, Varia was designed with a luxe interior complete with an open kitchen, reclaimed chandeliers from the historic Cavalier Hotel in nearby Virginia Beach, and two hidden speakeasy inspired private dining rooms. Anchoring the signature lounge atmosphere at Varia is a 24 bottle wine cruvinet and live piano entertainment provided nightly to complement a full schedule of culinary workshops and tasting events.

Went in for a Christmas Eve dinner. Our server was great with recommendations. The restaurant ambient is nice, on par with a fine dining experience. The presentation of our plates were marvelous, but slight disappointment on the taste. The pizza was bland for a hand-crafted Italian thin crust. The foraged mushroom pasta was very flavorful but the texture of the pasta was a lil disappointing, did not taste like a handmade pasta. Still appreciate the meatless option regardless. Special shout-out to the pizza expert who work at the pizza station, his pizza making process was a passionate performance!!!! That’s what I called ‘ work with heart’! ❤️

This is our second visit to Varia, and certainly not our last. I really enjoy the atmosphere with the big chandelier, funky bookcases, soft drapes, and cool accessories. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I had a pizza (pear, gorgonzola) and really enjoyed it. I was worried that the crust was going to be too thin and crispy, but I was pleasantly surprised–was perfect.

Attended a special Williamsburg Winery paring dinner pairing that was unbelievably amazing! The chef precisely paired the amazing wines of Williamsburg Winery with his masterpieces of culinary art. The evening was filled with divine food, delish wine and delightful company. We were excited to learn the Varia has booked wine pairing dinners every other month through October 2023! We are looking forward to many more pleasant evenings like this in the future.

I’ve been here twice now and each time the service is excellent! I absolutely love the atmosphere, with the beautiful chairs, book shelves, piano, and more. It feels so fancy and I love it. Kaylee was our waitress and she was phenomenal! She was very nice and attentive and helped make sure we got what we needed. Would highly recommended for delicious food and a lovely evening!

Amazing food, service, and ambiance. The service was impeccable, and on point with food and wine pairings. An extensive wine list that’s sure to please any palate. I started with the Burrata Caprese and it was delicious, my favorite of the night. My main course, The Braised Short Rib Pappardelle was good as well. Highly recommend and suggest a reservation as they stay busy.
