Last night was my first visit to Vargas. I drove in from Houston to celebrate my birthday. I researched the restaurant and it looked really nice. It had received nice reviews so I gave it a try. The food was subpar. Given the strict dress code, and the price of the food I was expecting exceptional quality food and service. When we sat down the water glass was dirty with food stains on it.

Took my dad and stepmother to Vargas couple days ago, I had the Red Snapper, my dad had the Sea Bass, we got a crab cake and the chocolate thing dessert. They came in for the week from Georgetown. The food was great as usual,but the service this time was above and beyond. My dad is handicapped so I had to pull the car up to door when we were leaving and the waiter who had already been top notch, helped walk them out and get them into car and carried the leftover bag. Truly great experience everything I’m there!

My husband and I have gone to a ton of fine dining restaurants all around Texas, and this BY FAR was the best experience and food we’ve ever had! Oh my goodness, from the staff to the incredible food, we were blown away. The lobster bisque was RIDICULOUS. Oh my gosh. So good!! Our server was Erica and she did an amazing job. The owner, Denise Varga, visited our table several times throughout the night and was so helpful to the servers all throughout the restaurant. We live in College Station, but we will absolutely be driving back here!!

Very rarely do I go to a restaurant where everything is PERFECT! Well worth the dress code and the price! Highly recommend to even my most pickiest friends. Can’t say enough positive. Best restaurant in Galveston and best restaurant I’ve been to in quite some time.

My husband and I celebrated our 29th yr anniversary here last night and all I have to say is there wasn’t any other place I would have rather spent it. Blake was our waiter and was on point with everything. We had a few questions about the restaurant and the food and his recommendations and knowledge of the food and restaurant was excellent.
