We came in on a busy Friday night and they were very accommodating. We sat at a middle table and then they moved us to a booth when one opened up. Everyone was very friendly and helped us understand the order process (you would write your order on the paper and bring it up). The food was DELICIOUS. Huge portions. We could have easily split one order. Great takeaway containers and again, super welcoming staff. Absolutely no complaints.

A few of the first reasons I love this place don’t even have to do with the food. The venue is old and has character. It’s simple and basic and it reminds me of small town diner or the air of grandma’s rural house. I believe this is family owned too, so local business is also a plus.

I backpacked SE Asia for 5 months many years ago, so I appreciate this style of cooking. Too many years to recall how closely the food matches being there in person, but it is tasty and affordable here. My curry was a wow. I loved it. That might be bias to some nostalgia of my travel days, but I really liked it. Service is warm and friendly. I would very much encourage supporting this local modest venue, it is well worth the food and experience.

This thai restaurant was recommended to me so we thought we’d give it a try. We tried the beef pad thai. The portion was quite big and it came with a decent amount of meat. The flavor was good as well. Overall the dish was good, but not outstanding for pad thai. The servers were very nice.

I absolutely love their food been going regularly for about about 3.5 years now.

It’s like orgasmically good , portions large and cheaper than competitors, hole in the wall somewhat hidden in plain site even though I had passed on St Anne’s by car and bike thousands of times inside is dated but I don’t care about that much , superb great & quick service.

I always feel great after eating there, as ingredients are top notch and their curry’s and all dishes are simply phenomenal and would be amtough to replicate , it’s cheaper than flying to Thailand.

I’m usually not satisfied with many of Winnipeg restaurants and it’s hard to satisfy my taste! but when it comes to authentic Thai food Vanxai’s wins big times ! and if I could give them 10 stars I will ! Great customer Service, Amazing Thai food and taste, generous portions and reasonable price, clean, cute and welcoming atmosphere and on top of everything wonderful people! Thank you so much ! After 5 years in Winnipeg I finally can have a great lunch and dinner experience any day!

This is my go-to place for Lao/Thai food! Crab rangoons and the papaya salad are always a must for me. Love the Kao Peak on a rainy day. I’d also recommend the boneless fried chicken and fried rice and the beef pad thai. Lovely atmosphere, friendly/helpful staff and the food is inexpensive for the huge portions.

We enjoyed the crab rangoon, tom yum soup and panang curry. The flavours were on point, delicious and filling for two people. We will definitely come back. My only beef was that we ordered beef panang and got chicken instead, but it was delicious all the same and the serving staff was friendly and quick to take or order and bring us our food

The chicken pad Thai is the best I’ve ever had. The spicy cashew with beef is delicious and so is the sesame chicken. The ginger tea hits different here. Such a cozy and cute hidden gem in the old st vital area. I’m a local and I’ll walk over when I’m craving some Thai

Amazing Thai restaurant. The food orders were prepared very quickly and the service was friendly. Picked their shrimp salad rolls for an appetizer, which were outstanding – some of the best salad rolls I’ve ever had with the great sweet chili sauce. Ordered the Pad Thai for the main course at spice level 4 of 5. It was amazing – the cilantro was nicely seasoned into the meal with the bits of peanut. I would like to add, I am a fan of spicy food and the spice level I received would actually be more like a 3 of 5, so next time I go here I’ll definitely order a 5 of 5 spice! My wife ordered the Red Curry plate with the rice and it was splendid. We also really enjoyed the ginger tea with the meal. Great price, great location.
