Great country food. Everything on my plate was amazing. Just like home cooked, just not at home. Definitely recommend.

Great food! The place has a real “down home” atmosphere. We had the tenderloin sandwich. Excellent!

The food at Vans is amazing. We arrived for a late breakfast. The pancakes are killer. Soon big we took part of one home for breakfast for another day. The Travelers breakfast with the ham – again amazing. The He-man breakfast was very good. The grilled pork cutlet was different. The biscuit was something completely different. Almost the consistency of cake. Couldn’t eat all of it. I love hash browns, and they were well above par.
Staff were busy but keeping up. Very courteous, very helpful. Knowledgeable about the menu. They say the Cole slaw is to die for. Given the quality of the food , I have no doubt it is.
The building is my reason for less than 5 star rating across the board. The table was sticky, and the floor was also sticky. The walls, cieling, and other areas of the building can use some work. Cleaning and repair, paint, and some love and care. It is a country diner – through and through. I would eat here again.

A nice little side of the road, mom and pop joint. atsmophere was pretty good. Everyone was friendly. The food was excellent. It’s worth the 2-hour drive from our hotel. Wanted to go back before going home from vacation, but time did not allow it. Me and the wife had the 4-piece fried chicken. My kid had a double bacon cheese burger. Will definitely go back when we return to that area. The coleslaw was awesome. I loved the finely chopped texture and the flavor. Even my kid loved it, and she normally hates coleslaw.

This place is awesome. The young ladies working were very friendly and got to our table right away. Lasagna was one of the specials and it was amazing. The chicken fried steak that my friend had could be cut with a fork. Our bill was $33 and we were both stuffed. If I get back up this way, Van’s will be in my list of places to stop. Y’all keep up the good work there. If you want an amazing meal and super nice folks, this is the place. It’s 10 min or so off I-64 and you can get into lot with small trailer or their is a gas station next door with a bigger lot in back.

A sparse country atmosphere with first class home cooked food! My #1 grandson had the country fried steak with baked potato, which he loved. The #2 grandson had fried chicken with French fries, and also some of his grandma’s fried chicken. Grandma and I had the 3 piece fried chicken platter, with a mix of white and dark meat. It came hot and freshly cooked, breaded and fried to a moist perfection! 5 stars for the food! We will stop in again real soon. Bon appetite!

Nestled in the heart of Marengo is a nice country cooking restaurant. Everybody knows Van’s. It was lunch rush hour. The place was full and lively. My husband ordered a burger with home made fried potatoes-of which I had a generous portion of. Yummy would be the start of the conversation. The next time we amble through town, I think we’ll make it a point to stop in.
