We took advantage of the late closing time of this ice cream place, and we were not disappointed! We tried the mango sticky rice and brown sugar cookie dough brownie, and although they were very sweet, they were still quite delicious! The aesthetic inside the store is also incredibly colourful and vibrant, making for a great photo background! I will definitely be back if I want a sweet treat and I’m ever back in New York.

OMG THIS ICE CREAM WAS SO GOOD! They menu is small and simple but the flavors are pretty unique. The ice cream was so smooth and creamy and not just sweet with sugar but flavor! The root beer floats are amazing too. The root beer is a very simple and almost unsweetened soda which lends itself so nicely with any ice cream flavor (although I’d recommend coffee). Service was fast and friendly!

Was great ice cream! Had the pumpkin cheesecake, fudge brownie, and Italian hazelnut. Wasn’t sure how generous the scoops would be. So got three of them…and they were very generous! Service was great also. FYI They don’t take cash . Only debit or credit. Wasn’t an issue

Tried the Sicilian Pistachio and Cookies & Cream in a cone—portions were pretty big! While the pistachio doesn’t quite compare to the gelato in Italy, it’s still a solid option, and Van Leeuwen is definitely a go-to for ice cream in New York.
The shop itself is small and often crowded, but there’s a little seating area inside and benches outside where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. I’ll definitely be back to try more flavors—summer is just around the corner!

This place is great! The size of the store is small so just be ready for the crowded spot but the ice cream is delicious! One of my favorite ice cream companies in NYC. You absolutely have to try the earl grey ice cream – it is fantastic!! The staff is super friendly and will let you try plenty of flavors as you make up your mind. Do go and check it out!

Yum! I love Van Leeuwen because they offer both vegan and gluten free options, including some that are BOTH vegan and GF! Big win!
All of the flavors I’ve tried have been delicious, and hit the mark on being creamy and not having weird texture which vegan ice cream often suffers from.
Service here ranges from fine to so bad you give up and come back another time- really hit or miss, bad enough to lose stars for with an otherwise great product.
Flavors rotate seasonally which is fun- always something new to try!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was my first time and the person on duty made suggestions on what ice cream flavors I should get. I wanted to try out honey comb and it was suggested for me to pair it with earl grey. I also love that they use wooden spoons for customers to try out ice cream. They are lessening the use of plastics! There were seats inside and outside.

I am writing to commend an employee named Day for her truly exceptional work during the two-day pop-up event on December 5th (and 6th) in collaboration with Touchland.
This event promised free custom ice cream and Touchland hand sanitizer sprays for the first 50 customers each day. What made Day’s performance so remarkable is that she was the only worker managing the entire event and was reportedly unaware of the collaboration beforehand.
Despite being caught off guard and facing high customer volume, Day displayed:
Exceptional Professionalism: She maintained a positive and focused attitude.
Incredible Speed and Efficiency: She worked quickly and diligently under intense pressure.
Outstanding Hard Work: She ensured every customer was served promptly and kindly.
Day absolutely knocked the ball out of the park both days! She exemplified great customer service and truly salvaged what could have been a chaotic event. Thank you, Day, for your dedication and fast-paced, high-quality work.
