Wow. Just wow. My family was blown away. Everything we had was good. The hanger steak was a tasty cut of meat. I tried my daughter’s chicken tenders and they were the best tasting tenders I’ve ever eaten. Don’t skip the cinnamon Ice Cream and Peach Cobbler. To judge this restaurant based on the appearance of the city would be a supreme mistake. Diamond in the rough FOR SURE!

We know the owner, super friendly staff!The person in charge of seating every one, worked hard and fast to find people a place to sit. Highly recommend! The bar staff were quick with getting drinks out. The food is amazing! Super clean!! Family friendly! Kid friendly! Not too noisy with talking, or with the TV’s on.

Maybe an off night? Sunday night Jan 18. Service was super slow. My husband ordered a rib eye and he said it was no better than eating one at Bonanza. He had the rib eye, Mac cheese which was watery, beans which were good, sweet tea and 1 beer. I had a side salad and mashed potatoes with water. No bread offered. 45 minute wait. After tip, it was 77 dollars. I feel price was over the top. Rib eye was market price but wherever they are buying their meat, they or we are getting ripped off. The bartender was good she made an excellent lemon drop martini which we paid for separately from the meal.

Everything about this restaurant was good!
We observed several spiritual couples praying before their meal. Impressed me as most people where I live don’t do that.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The place was bright and clean.
We ordered Yuengling, which were ice cold.
We both ordered the classic cheeseburger, I got mine with bacon. They were cooked perfectly at a medium. Very hefty sandwich that came with steak fries, lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle spear.
Will definitely stop in again.

I have mixed emotions about our first experience here. While the presentation was decent, the meal took almost 45 minutes to receive after ordering. Our steaks were undercooked. Both were blue rare which doesn’t bother me usually but we both ordered flat iron steaks. Not cooking them to 130 guaranteed a tough steak. The steaks were both under seasoned severely again a big issue on flat iron steaks. The mash potatoes were very good however as were the green beans. My girlfriend had asparagus which was overcooked and she felt may have been to mask they were seemingly going bad. The cheese cake we had for desert was ok but over priced. With an around 17% tip our bill was a few cents shy of $100. I don’t mind paying even more if the meal was god and I frequently do. This was not…I am not sure if the rating was from people in the rating not knowing what a good place is with few places to choose from or if we caught it on an off night. I have hoped it was an off night for the steak chef. The glass of wine seemed as if the bottle had been opened far too long. I am also guessing they don’t serve very much.

Maybe higher end isn’t there forte which isn’t a problem but know that going in. I think based solely on this experience it’s around a 1.5 to 2 stars at best. From reading other reviews this may be about par for them. The good reviews may just never have eaten from a nicer location.

Passing through Town on a trip, food was good, the drinks were great, and the service was top notch. They handled an issue no one could predict quickly and with style which says a lot about a place when the owner and the owner’s family show up quickly to fill in. Really appreciated their communication and how they took care of things. Would definitely stop in to see them again. Ice cream next door on the attached business was good, too.

This was my first time in Van Horn. We were very hungry. This place seemed inviting and it was. The ladies here were very friendly. They were laughing and having a good time. The server took our orders and we got them fairly quick. My steak was done perfectly (medium). The mashed potatoes were awesome ( with lumps). The corn was nice and sweet.
If ever I am in Van Horn again, I am definitely coming here again.
