I bought a valley burger to go and. It’s a big heavy bugger with a thick patty. The meat was cooked very nice and was easy to eat. The burger had nice spice too. The down side is it is a very greasy burger with no veggies other than some onion.

Look this place has been a regular visit for many years and it was actually my folks that raved about The Valley Tavern Burger first to me! I’ve since stopped in whenever I’m riding/driving through the area and it’s NEVER disappointed. Maybe I’m older now, but this last time the burger seemed enormous!! I could not finish this tasty treat. If you don’t know it’s some quality beef, with Tillamook cheddar melted in there with some savory jalapeños, and toasted bun to boot. Used to just get this with bagged Lays chips and a PBR, but now their menu has increased, they have a fryer, and they offer fries (fish & chips if inclined) Mac & Jack, Guinness, and other offerings. I don’t know if outsiders would view this place as a “dive bar”, but frankly I DON’T CARE!!! It’s a small town treasure! Folks are friendly and inviting, game days are pretty fun, they’ve got pull tabs, there’s an outside area (though you’d freeze your extremities off at the moment!), and if you’re staying at a nearby campground/marina/or traveling through this would be a good choice.

We stopped here on our last night in town and glad we did! The bartender was friendly as could be and made us the BEST burger we EVER had (no joke AWESOME)! We will definitely be back!

Update 08/06/24 still cool, play pull tabs too. I like old taverns and this fits the mold. Beer wine only. The world Famous Burger was fine. Friendly local folks. Sports on the TVs. Covered Out door seating and smoking area

I like the place by Today the bartender seemed more interested in chatting with regular customers than servicing others. I sat there longer then I needed to to get refills and pay the bill

The cheeseburger was piled high with onions and grated cheese cooked to perfection. Juicy and delicious! Washed down with a local craft beer. We will be making this a regular stop on our visits to the Port Townsend area!

I typically go for the greasy walkup joints for a burger, but I’m glad I tried this ‘world famous’ burger. I got the namesake Valley burger with the works. Thick with a great crust on the meat. Lots of melted cheddar, onion, jalapeno, and sauce.
I would have loved a little more sauce, and a small bag of ruffles instead of fries doesn’t cut the mustard.
Beer selection was modest, but it’s the kind of place you should be drinking a Raineer anyway, so was sufficient.
Staff were friendly and prompt.

Love this spot. From the famous cheeseburger with an unbelievable amount of cheese on it to the chainsaw carving of John Wayne, this place is Hadlocks best bar.

Great burger, best ever!! Half pound with a bunch of cheese, yummy. Too bad the night crew didn’t do any cleaning, booths were dirty, had to ask for it to be wiped. Not the friendliest waitress, yet the food was so good it wasn’t so important. Outdoor seating area was very pretty.

Food was expensive! Looked like a fun place to try but the food was bland. This place is much better if you want to stop in for a beer, just not a great dinner spot.
