A True Neighborhood Tavern With its homelike atmosphere, the Valley Lodge is one of the iconic and go-to restaurants on the North Shore. Founded in 1969 by brothers Peter and Taki Adamis, the Glenview location quickly became THE popular dining destination. In 1997, new owners Bill and George Stavrou carried forward the tradition in Glenview, and later in 2014 when they opened its Wilmette location. Our philosophy has always been and is to create a true neighborhood tavern. One where our guests can be comfortable, relax, and take the whole family, friends, business associates, or even the whole team where they can enjoy quality service and exceptional food at a great value.

What an incredible first experience! We’re opening a restaurant down the street and wanted to support a local business, so we gave this place a try. We were quickly seated and greeted with warm, fresh bread and butter. Our drinks arrived promptly, and our server suggested the salmon and a salad that surprisingly tasted just like a Big Mac—both were excellent. The menu choices were diverse and definitely exceeded our expectations. The manager recommended the key lime pie, which was fresh, creamy, and absolutely perfect. Prices were super reasonable for the exceptional food that was served! This will definitely be our new go-to spot, and we highly recommend giving it a try!

Had a door dash order from Valley Lodge tonight and as always the food was great. A slight issue with the kids pasta that Chris very swiftly took care of. Great food, great customer service from the manager. The only take away is from the individual who answered the phone. I asked to speak with the manager about my food order and his response was “Uh…maybe… but I think he might be busy so you’ll have to wait, what do you need?” (In an obviously annoyed tone) Only when I stated I had an issue with a 100$ food order was he suddenly able to get Chris for me. I’m a restaurant manager myself and understand the need to skirt calls from unwanted solicitors…but there’s better responses, and tones, than what that fellow gave me.

Had an awesome experience at Valley Lodge Tavern. The food was great, the atmosphere was comfortable, and everything came out fresh and fast. Our waiter, Agustin, was incredibly friendly and attentive he really made the visit even better with his service. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and recommend to others.

Beautiful restaurant with fireplace. So cozy. Great service. French onion soup was just okay, it was watery maybe. The bread they brought before the food was delicious. Wagyu sliders not great tasting and the string fries are just ok for what they are.

Great family-friendly restaurant in the heart of Downtown Wilmette. We had the bbq pork sliders and the beef tenderloin sliders this time. Both were really good. They also have great sweet potato fries. I love their outdoor seating – perfect for people watching on a warm spring night. Service was great, and I love that I can pay the bill from my phone through the toast app.

$24 for 6 ribs the size of my finger is a little silly, two bites of meat on each one. I almost never leave bad reviews but this kinda sucked, a lot of money for the smallest ribs I’ve ever gotten. Fries weren’t seasoned, was really looking forward to this place so just a bummer. Nice atmosphere, servers were a little slow but were kind.

Great food, great employees, great place. My family loves this place. The manager Chris is the best. He is down to earth and cares about all his customers. The hostess Lilly is awesome and super friendly. Eating here a few days in a row is not unheard of because all the food is great. We will see you there!

Love this cozy place (as well as Glenview location). Warm and friendly with a great team and great service. Love their sliders! Chris and team also support the community and especially our huge Super Bowl Sunday Blood Drive at Saints JFX in Wilmette.

I really like how they serve warm bread at this establishment. I ordered the VL tavern burger and fries. In my opinion, the food was just okay. A little expensive for the quality, and I felt like my burger needed some more oomph. The fries needed to be crispier, but it was well seasoned. The coleslaw was unnecessary for a burger meal. It’s also not put in the most attractive container. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was good.
