I love their wine list and you can order pours in 3, 6, or 9 ounces. The service was super friendly as well. This isn’t a 5 star place because it lacks a cozy atmosphere- it feels more like a restaurant than a wine bar. Also, the octopus appetizer was just OK. The octopus (pictured) are really small and not what I was expecting. The flavors were decent, but not amazing. I’ll definitely come back, but just for some wine and cheese with friends.

We had such a beautiful evening at Uvae Kitchen and Wine Bar in Andersonville ✨

Everything felt thoughtful without being fussy. We started with the burrata with marinated strawberries, basil, lavender, and pistachios It was creamy and light with just the right touch of sweetness.

The fried artichoke stole the show early on. Crispy and rich, with chili oil, citrus, and the creamiest pecorino sauce

Then came the black cod. It was so tender and flavorful, with miso, cucumber salad, red cabbage purée, and a crispy rice cake Every bite was balanced and comforting.

Cocktails were clean and creative and the wine pairing made everything shine

We finished with their cheesecake topped with seasonal compote and these fun little crunchy bits It was light, tangy, and the perfect ending.

The service was warm, the space was cozy, and we left already talking about when to come back. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem

This is more of a 4.5! We had a great evening here yesterday. The waiter was awesome and explained the menu to us. Everything is meant to be shareable here. We had Brussels sprouts (5/5 amazing it has bacon), duck fat curly frites (5/5 so addicting like chips!), mussels (5/5 sauce so good we got more bread), and lastly the braised pork 4/5. The pork came in 3 pieces but it was super soft and tender! My only thing about it was the sauce was on a sweeter side. We came for happy hour oysters originally but the dinner items were actually even better! The oysters (not pictured) were just average 3/5. I have no complaints here. Would come back if I’m in the area again!

In Chicago we suffer an embarrassment of culinary riches and I’ve enjoyed many a fine meal here, but after four years in the windy city at Uvae, I may have just had my best meal yet.

The February Wine Dinner was the best four-course Prix Fixe I’ve ever had — period, full-stop. While the food and wine were excellent on their own, pairings were harmonious making the total more than the sum of its parts.

Our server Erika was funny, engaging, professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Her descriptions were spot on and she really contributed to our experience. What more could a diner ask for? Manager Cate was gracious and warm as well.

The portions were generous and beautifully presented without being overly ambitious. The service was warm and professional and the ambiance just right. The talent and passion from every single person in the kitchen shone through on every plate and with every bite. I can not sing the praises of Uvae highly enough and wish the restaurant and all the talent that resides within every success. What a not so hidden gem in Andersonville this is. May it shine for many years to come.

Caitlin made hosting our friend’s bridal shower an absolute joy. From start to finish, the process was very smooth, concise and surprisingly affordable. The location was beautiful, even before we pulled out our own decorations and the food was delicious, everyone raved about the cheesy hash browns and even us picky eaters enjoyed the mushroom egg casserole. Caitlin and her team were incredibly accommodating, Uvae will definitely be at the top of our list for future events.

We had a reservation for 8:30 PM but were not seated until approximately 9:15 PM due to overbooking. While I understand holidays are busy, the delay significantly impacted our evening, especially given the occasion.

Unfortunately, the experience did not improve once we were seated. Our server placed items on the table without explanation or engagement and left without checking in. The service felt rushed and inattentive.

Most disappointing, however, was the quality of the Valentine’s Day special. The food did not meet expectations, particularly at the premium price point. For what was meant to be a special holiday dinner, the overall experience felt disorganized and underwhelming, and it genuinely put a damper on our celebration.

We chose your restaurant expecting a memorable evening and left feeling disappointed. I would appreciate your response regarding how this situation might be remedied.

Had dinner here, and it was a pleasant experience. The sommelier was knowledgeable and nice, with the wine pairings being the highlight. The food was prepared with care, but the taste was just alright. Good vibes overall. I’d come back for the wine tasting and happy hour deals.

Amazing food. Their restaurant week 2026 is so delicious. Love their happy hour oysters. The duck and scallop entrees are incredible. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

First the glowing positives: excellent, attentive service! Delicious food and a huge wine list. This would be a 5 star restaurant for me, IF: seating were not so tight and the room was not so loud. When you spend premium dollar for dining, you don’t expect to be one foot from your neighbor, perched on an uncomfortable wood stool. Sorry to say,the room is small and atrociously loud. (Not my thing.) A wood stool, cramped quarters, and loudness is fine when it’s $40 per head, but not at $100 per person, after tax and tip (and restaurant week discount). It’s a decoratively bland, loud brick room, frankly. I’d recommend they place sound baffles on the walls, interesting canvases or tapestries, etc., and replace the chairs. For me, this was too expensive a dine, to be elbow to elbow with other customers, straining to hear my company. The signature $16 cocktails were also heavy on lemon and cinnamon, which was not to my palate. The wine list is extensive, though, and there are very reasonable, $7, 3oz tastes. We had a nice evening, and the food was good, but it’s not a place I’d return to on a busy night. Just too loud and uncomfortable due to brick acoustics, stiff chairs, and limited space. ‍♂️

Run don’t walk. We were thrilled to get a reservation Saturday night. The mussels, AMAZING! We had the lamb chops and short ribs. Uvae had the perfect atmosphere for a quaint birthday celebration. We will definitely be back. LOVE your hostess. She was a gem.
