Vedant Gharat
I wish I could rate this restaurant lower than this. What started with a good experience a few years back by eating their biryani has turned into nightmare experience form now. I let go last time when I received exceptionally low quality food but again today we order nihari with naan combo. And it was my biggest mistake to give this restaurant another chance. The curry was as thin as water. The nihari had no taste, flavour and tasted like the it was frozen before, not fresh and it was swimming with oil. I would never recommend this to anyone.
Please there are multiple good restaurants other than this one. It was so unappetizing that we had to throw it out and uber refused to help us obviously.

Great Food, Affordable. In reference to specifically the Ramadan Buffet I ate today. Very comfortable atmosphere. The only gripe I had was that it was a little difficult to navigate the buffet options due to lack of space. But that is not the fault of Urwa but rather the limitations of space. And this issue obviously wouldnt apply on a non buffet day.
The Service was great, friendly and considerate and familiar with my mother who was something of a regular. Which is always nice to see.
Their sweet rice was a highlight, though that may be me being a sucker for Gulab Jamun. Overall food was great.
Incredible place, would recommend, especially during Ramadan this year. But I have no doubt their food outside of it will be just as stellar.

We had an amazing iftar at Urwa Pakistani, and the food was delightful! I savored the aloo kachori, pilau, samosas, sweet rice, and chai, while my family indulged in a feast of flavors from the entire menu.
The highlight was definitely Saman’s warm hospitality; she truly made us feel at home. I had such a wonderful time and wholeheartedly recommend the iftar buffet.
Don’t miss out on the halwa puri on weekends after Ramadan—those whole wheat puris are simply the best!

Taste, portion is fair. Spices and taste is good. Atmosphere is average (AC isn’t working). As soon as my food arrived on Table, 2 flies suddenly appear from somewhere and they were bothering me till the end.
Taste is really good but frozen meat ruined the show.
Limited parking at front.
Overall good experience.

I don’t how they have such a high ratig when they have such a pathetic food. It is a takeout order.I ordered Garlic , tanroori and butter naan. All are same. You cannot feel the difference at all in tandoori or garlic.
Now coming to Beef Nihari, what they have done is just added water to increase the gravy and the meat is so hard. Such a waste of money. More like beef in colored water. Please at least try to check what you are serving.
!!PLEASE AVOID SUCH A PATHETIC RESTAURANT!!

This was the absolute best chicken tikka I have had in my 10 years of living in Canada. The portions were very generous and the chicken was incredibly soft and well marinated. I’m sad that after living less than 500 metres away for all 5 years of uni, I’m only discovering this place after school is done. I would highly highly recommend Urwa’s, you’re not going to get desi food this good anywhere else in Waterloo.

This place may not have a fine dining lounge, but the food and service more than make up for that. This is my favourite “Indian Cuisine” and I choose it every time.
Their prices are quite fair, their specials and combos make it easy to order, and everything is clearly described for newbies.
The service is always top notch for such a small place and they are always happy to answer any questions about spice levels, or make additional recommendations.
I find the seasoning is a step above the average, and this place is in my top 5 for takeout.

Felt like HOME AWAY FROM HOME. Urwa’s was where I tried Pakistani food for the very first time and since then it has become one of my favorite spots. The food is always fresh and rich in flavos. For me, If it’s Pakistani food that I am craving for, it is only from Urwa’s (Dine-In/Take-out). Hospitality by the owner felt like it was my elder sister feeding me. This place has genuine, peaceful and homely vibe. The renovation makes the place spacious and even more accommodating for big groups.

Absolutely blown away by the incredible flavours at URWA’S Pakistani & Indian Cuisine! If you’re craving authentic, richly spiced dishes that taste just like home-cooked comfort food, this is the place to be. Every bite bursts with flavour — from the perfectly grilled chicken tikka and buttery naan to the creamy, aromatic butter chicken and tender lamb curry. The biryani? Fragrant, flavorful, and cooked to perfection — hands down one of the best in town! You can really taste the freshness and quality in every dish, and it’s clear the chefs are passionate about what they do.
Whether you’re dining in for a cozy meal, grabbing takeout, or catering for an event, URWA’S never disappoints. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is warm and friendly. Highly recommend to all food lovers — this spot is a hidden treasure for anyone who appreciates bold, authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine.
