Bustling cafe offering a vast menu of American eats, plus a variety of organic coffee drinks.

The margherita pizza was better than expected.
It’s a basic, but the sauce that comes with it has a slight kick, so it doesn’t feel heavy.
The dough was nicely toasty.
The Spanish latte had a classic taste, and the portion was pretty big.
It’s a solid coffee that sticks to the basics.
The vanilla ice cream waffle was fine and simple.
The tuna sandwich was good, but the half size is quite small, so I’d recommend the full size since the price difference isn’t big.
The cafe is usually crowded, and it took a while for the food to come out.
It’s better to visit when you have enough time to wait.

Started my morning at Urth Caffe SM with my eldest daughter, and we absolutely like the outdoor setting on the back patio. It is such a peaceful, grounded atmosphere with the birds chirping, a rare escape from the city buzz. While this location is usually very busy, arriving early was the perfect strategy. Pls. do check the hours of operation. We didn’t have to wait long at all for our food and coffee, which made the morning even better. The food was beautiful and the service was top-tier. A truly wonderful start to the day with even better company. ☕️✨
Accessibility Tip:
This is a very important detail! The first time I visited, we actually had to pass and go elsewhere because our friend was in a wheelchair and, looking at the stairs in the front, we didn’t realize there was an accessible option. Coming back today with my daughter, I discovered there is a very convenient off-ramp/wheelchair access in the back that leads right to the patio. I’m so glad I know this now for future visits with friends!

Urth Caffe is one of my favorite places to go get food in Santa Monica!
Pure awesomeness and fresh food, atmosphere is awesome, the beach is like a 3 minute walk from there.
We ordered the Half Size Urth salad with chicken and cilantro chicken sandwich full size.
Excellent choice for a sunny day.
Parking could get a bit tricky but you’ll find one for sure. There’s parking behind main street so you can do that too.
This is a must go place.

The worst location I’ve visited!!! I love Urth Caffé and have been to several locations, but this one consistently falls far below the usual Urth standards. The food and drinks here feel like they follow a completely different—and much lower—set of expectations. The eggs didn’t even test like eggs, and the chicken was not cooked and dry. I truly hope Urth Caffé management sees this review and takes steps to improve the quality at this location.

The employees here are very helpful! I had a Smoothie and was able to pick 3 fruits. I chose Strawberry, Banana, & Mango. It was excellent. Not too sweet, though not Sour. My friend had a Nutella baked goods which looked super sweet, but was not. There was a delicate balance between the flavors. My friend had a Mocha with Almond milk. It was also not too sweet. Then they ordered Huevos Rancheros with Spicy Chicken Chorizo added. It was NOT a pork Chorizo. They said that people who like spicy food would not consider the dish spicy. Overall, a great experience.

Urth Caffé in Santa Monica feels like a place you want to linger. The coffee was really good, the snacks were lovely and everything tasted fresh. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with plenty of space to sit and simply enjoy coffee in peace. And that’s exactly what I did. It’s the kind of spot where time slows down a little and you leave feeling calm and happy.

I ordered a breakfast burrito to go from the online website. I added gouda cheese instead of the mozzarella it came with. I wish the burrito was better, because everything was yummy. But unfortunately the cheese was as HARD AS A ROCK!!!! It felt like the rind of the cheese was shoved into the burrito. I have never had cheese look like that before in a anything I’ve eaten!!!! Cheese is supposed to be stringy not hard as a hocky puck. I couldn’t even bite into it….I had to take it out of my burrito and it totally messed it up. I will add a picture because it is so nasty, I can’t believe they allowed their food to be served this way….so disappointed

I ordered the Spanish latte, which I remember having here about three years ago and loving it. Back then it was creamy, sweet, and really special. Unfortunately, this time it didn’t live up to that memory. It wasn’t creamy or sweet at all and tasted more like a regular cappuccino. I’m not sure if it was made incorrectly or if the recipe has changed and no longer uses condensed milk, but it didn’t stand out this time.
I also tried the new chocolate pistachio waffle special, which looked great on the menu but was very light on toppings in reality (picture attached). For the price, I expected a bit more generosity and balance.
Overall, spending $52 on two coffees and two breakfast dishes didn’t feel like the value matched the experience this visit.

The GOOD: nice cozy vibes! The coffee latte was good, they offer three caffeine options: strong, median, decaf. The price was good for the portions.
The NOT SO GOOD: the green rose tea was too sweet. The green tea muffin and blueberry was very dense, and tasted just fine.

Stopped by on a late Tuesday morning. It was not as busy and I found free street parking right away. My first time ordering the D’Lox Toast. It comes with a thick slice of English Buckwheat toast. It looked burnt at first glance but it was delicious and would recommend the toast rather than the bagel. It comes with Salmon Lox, tomatoes, red onions, capers, and cream cheese. Service was good as usual. It can be pricey but the quality is good. I only stop by their locations for breakfast/brunch.
