There’s plenty of seating, and while this location can get very busy, it’s definitely worth the wait. I love coming here to enjoy good food and spend time with friends and family, and the kids menu is also great. A solid spot I keep coming back to. ☕️
Today, I visited the Urth Orange location and ordered the avocado toast again, this time with a poached egg and added tomato. Unfortunately, the plate arrived cold and didn’t taste the way I remembered. The manager was kind enough to replace it, and the second plate was much better, but still not quite on the level of the Pasadena branch.
I also tried the Rumi drink, which was very good. The café was quite busy, but the staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered several other items as well; the pesto chicken omelette, honey vanilla latte, strawberry affogato boba, and salmon plate; all of which tasted great.
Despite my mixed experience with the avocado toast at this location, Urth still offers a wonderful variety of dishes and drinks, and I appreciate their commitment to organic ingredients.
Overall, Urth is definitely worth trying, but based on my experiences, I would still recommend the Pasadena location over the Orange one
Visiting Urth Caffe Orange is like finding a local gem in the heart of the Orange Circle — the vibe, the coffee, and the food all deliver. The organic, rich espresso and signature lattes are consistently outstanding, and every drink reflects the care they put into their coffee craft. The menu goes well beyond coffee, with delicious brunch options like fresh-made sandwiches, açai bowls, and seasonal specialties that keep regulars coming back.
The restaurant serves the same yummy menu. Well decorated with nice ambiance.
They have plenty of indoor seating a well as outdoor patio.
Parking is a bit of a challenge in the area.
What took away from the experience was the ordering system. You have to line up, order, get a number, and then wait at your table. It felt confusing and inefficient, especially since the cashier was also serving drinks. With such a large space, it’s hard for staff to keep up, so the coffee ended up arriving cold and some orders got mixed up. A simple pager system where customers pick up their own drinks would make things run much smoother.
As I walked in the other morning, there were no customers waiting in line. I immediately walked towards the pastry counter and observed four workers congregating and talking behind the registers. Not a big deal, as I was still looking at the pastries. After a few moments I stood up straight, faced the register and made it obvious I was ready to order.
As I stood there, two of the female workers continued to talk to each other. I literally staired at them for an awkward 30 seconds. After having enough of their lack of common sense, I stated, “Are you guys ready?” The two girls finally looked up and with a look of annoyance, as I was apparently interrupting them, stated “Yes?” The girl with the cow nose ring (See Picture) assisted me with her passive aggressive voice and clearly didn’t want to be there. Throughout our whole interaction she gave attitude. (If you don’t want to work, go home!)
I paid for my food and left feeling, Forget this place! Why should anyone patronize an overpriced establishment with bad customer service? I don’t think I will be coming back. It’s apparent that Urth is not doing well, as there are never any lines or wait times. You clearly see the difference from just 2 years ago. I’m sure it is due to the rise in the cost of food, as well as the underwhelming quality and flaver of food. With the added bad service.
I hope management figures it out because there are plenty of other food options in the circle and people don’t care for their shenanigans.
