Reviews
Clean restaurant, nice bar, decent beer selection, the “dirty” milkshakes looked good. Only 2 wait staff working the whole floor, bar and point of sale terminal. Wait staff were friendly but I could tell they were moving. Pretty sure I seen the cook come out the back for a drink wearing open toe sandals as well.
Nice menu options, looks like you can get breakfast all day here.
When the burger came out I could tell it was frozen before I even bit into it, zero grill marks, no mailaird reaction on the surface. Thought it was funny they still ask how you want it cooked, asked for medium and nope.
The side of beans was the best part of the meal, a little on the sweet side but not bad.
I seen BBQ catering options, pit ham & turkey but no pit beef?? This is Maryland….
We ordered the Rufus burger, loaded tots, the Cali club with brussel sprouts and Mac n cheese with fries and apples for my son. The pulled pork on the burger was dry with an odd taste that I can’t quite describe. I could only take a few bites before I stopped eating it. The burger itself was very well done. Nowhere near the medium I requested. The loaded tots as you can see in the picture had a pinch of rock hard cheese and a little mound of bacon. The tots were like bricks and clearly in the fryer too long. The picture attached you can see what was sent. My wife’s brussel sprouts were burnt and tasted burnt. We had to throw them out. The apples that came with my son’s Mac n cheese tasted like cardboard. The chicken in the club was also very dry but overall taste wasn’t horrible.
I don’t know what has happened to UR Burger but have noticed quality has definitely gone down. It’s a shame because we used to love it there. Unfortunate this was the last time.
I do wish that is a little clearer in the bathroom and the dining area…. but definitely will be going back to get another burger….
I try to be as positive as I can, Especially if I like the place. Although I have been to UR Burger several times, sometimes it’s a hit and miss. First time I went, I had a burger. It was pretty decent… A little overcooked, so they sent it back and brought another one. We’ve also been there a few times for breakfast, not too bad. But some things can be greasy, and home fries overcooked and dry!
But this review is on Today! Read ON! We got three burgers, some sweet potato fries, broccoli, which was in a bowl of water and a bit overcooked, some green beans, tea and root beer for drinks!
Let’s start with the green beans. There was an issue! We tasted the green beans and they were kind of sour and had an awful taste. We really couldn’t put our finger on it. But they tasted bad! They looked fine but the taste was off… the waitress didn’t know. Turns out, The oil was a bit old, so The manager I think, made a new batch with fresh oil and brought it out for us to taste, totally 100% better… no bitter, sour, weird taste!
They could’ve just let us be and said, “that’s the way it is” but at least they changed it. And now customers won’t be eating food cooked in old oil. Shew!
Back to the review, we got three different burgers. I got the Rufus, my wife’s sister got a smash burger, And my wife got the avocado burger. On top of that we got some sides, which I’ll have to say we probably shouldn’t have. Sides weren’t cooked as well as they could have been. The burgers were OK. Mine, the Rufus was actually a pretty decent burger, lots of pork on top with two patties. But, between that and the sweet potato fries, there was quite a bit of oil, my hands were greasy. I don’t mind a greasy burger now and then but when there’s too much of it, it’s hard to enjoy. None of the burgers were cooked medium rare. The burgers were eaten, but Still slightly overcooked more than what we wanted.
We did eat all the burgers, so that should tell you something, at least they’re pretty good.
The sides were really bad today, I have to say. The green beans you know about, my sweet potato fries were okay, a little greasy, the other half soggy and some were cold. The flavor was there. I wish they were a little more crispy and less oily. Broccoli? It looks like it was boiled… or over steamed, Sitting in a puddle of water and soggy… They should’ve known that before they sent it out.
They did bring a salad in exchange for the bad green beans. But the salad wasn’t much better.
On a positive note! This place does its own barbecue in house and I’ll have to say the barbecue is pretty much far better than most things that they serve. The pulled pork on my burger was tasty and perfect add to the Rufus burger I got.
But they definitely need to check things before they’re sent out. And should check their oil often to make sure it’s not rancid.
We didn’t get any special offers for the situation. Just an extra salad to replace the green beans. Sending out food with bad oil should’ve never happened. Sending out broccoli that is well overcooked and soggy should’ve never happened. All that grease could’ve been avoided. Like I said before I don’t mind a good greasy burger, but IF it’s on the burger. The fries should be light and crispy, maybe next time?
All right, that is my review for this time. I will say the other times I’ve been there and the one time I ordered take-out it wasn’t bad…
Like I said, sometimes it’s a hit and miss depending on who’s cooking and making the food. Thanks for stopping by and checking out this review, don’t forget to check back for more!
If I go there again and the food experience is better than this time, I will definitely change my review. There definitely are some changes that need to be made. #burgerjoint #BBQFOOD
