We’ve been going to this Urbane Cafe since it opened years ago and found it was the BEST over the others on our area. The previous manager was superior, friendly, asking customers about how they enjoyed their food, etc. However, we returned recently and it’s painfully clear that the new management is not overseeing the QUALITY of the food being prepared. Not that “it’s prepared the same”, as the manager kept repeating to me when approached with the information. The salads were not fresh as before. The meat on a sandwich was rubbery and cold. The dressing, which are house prepared, tasted different in a bad way. Balsamic dressing was extremely oily, the Ranch (which we could drink straight up it was so good before) was terrible, with an off taste to it. Our bread was flat, not fluffy, and served ice cold. Trying to speak with the new manager was a waste and, frankly, infuriating, because he spouts off at me… “Sorry that our service doesn’t meet with YOUR standards.” Our standards? I was establishing evidence of a negative change based upon years of positive experience. Guess his standards of low quality is the new norm at this location. Please bring back the old manager. She had far superior standards than the current one.

We arrived approximately 15 minutes before closing. Two other people were sitting and eating, someone was ordering. We made our order, after ordering. We were told that we could not eat inside, because they were closing in ten minutes, and we were more than welcome to eat outside, It was 42 degrees .
I spoke with the manager and she rudely let us know, that she was sorry but we had to take our order to go. I explained to her that this was terrible customer service and should have let us know before ordering that we could not eat inside the restaurant.We got our food, left and sat in our car. They turned some of the lights off approximately 20 minutes later.
