I was driving cross the country and it was a super hot 88 degree day. I really needed something cold. Here is where Uptown scoops came in for the win . Donna the owner was amazing. She noticed I had no idea what I was doing and new to the area, haha. She took the time to get to know me and learn of my travels. So personal, she was the best. I ended up getting the Fruity Tooty shake. Omg just what I needed. This place was great, roofing top seating, plenty of covered seating, fun games at the tables. Super clean facility. Great custard place in town. Always great service and delicious ice cream. What I love the most is the family friendly environment. If you are just passing by or local. You should definitely try Uptown Scoops. The location is perfect by our library.

One of the best places around for a frozen custard in a cup or cone, a concrete or sundae, shakes, floats, and Italian ice. They have amazing homemade cookies and cookie ice cream sandwiches, too.
You can order a sandwich, pizza, ravioli, or a “kids pack” from 12 to 7 PM.
We really enjoyed our concretes, especially the classic turtle and the local favorite, the puppy dog chill.
Service was prompt and friendly and prices were very fair.
They have covered outdoor seating, a rooftop terrace, and available restrooms.
Parking along the street is free.
We will definitely return here again and recommend it to others!

Cutest little spot! The owner was so sweet and thankful for our business, which made our visit even sweeter. The Madison County Fair Queens gave the ice cream their royal stamp of approval—it was AMAZING!

Within view of the Collinsville Water Tower and in the beautiful town square sits an amazing property which houses the best custard that side of the Mississippi.
The buildings are shipping containers connected to a large pavilion that has several picnic tables. Behind the pavilion is a spot to play corn hole and lush grass for kids to play. There are games on the tables as well. The day my pals and I went there was a nice breeze on a day of dangerous heat and I never wanted to leave… why would I? Yummy custard, good conversation, great patrons (everyone that stopped by were so friendly) and the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve EVER had in my life (and I’m old), I was in heaven.
I had some kind of coffee/espresso concrete. (I forgot the name. ) It have a good taste but seemed a little runny for a concrete. Still VERY tasty. One of my pals had vanilla. (She’s lactose intolerant but still loved the ice cream. ) Another had chocolate and he LOVED it. My other friend had an Italian Ice. Honestly, I’ve never been one to order “flavored ice” but apparently it was really good. All this and it barely made a dent in the wallet. These items are priced right!
Now, let’s say you want to go here but on the day you can go (they are open 7 days a week so no excuses) it’s a bit chilly but you are craving something sweet or decadent. What do you do? I’ll tell you…. get one of the homemade cookies. How good are these cookies? Well one of my pals lives in Ohio and he bought 2 to take back with him.
The owner came out and went table to take to ask how we were enjoying our treats. She’s the genius behind the cookie recipe and honestly one of the nicest owners I’ve met. One of the people I was with started telling her his life story… he’s 87 so it’s cute and she listened and even asked questions before moving on to another table.
We will DEFINITELY be back! And we will bring friends!

My boyfriend and I went for a quick sweet treat before closing, and Uptown Scoops did not disappoint! The young lady at the window was so nice and welcomed us with a smile. We even got to meet the owner and spoke to her for a bit about the background of the shop and the history behind the famous Grandmas Cookies. We tried one and it was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and clean! I am a Ted Drew’s girl by heart, but since living in Illinois this will be my new go to spot!
