Food was good- some may say a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I dont necessarily like the salt on the side of my glass instead of around the rim of my margarita (personal preference). Other than that all was well. We did ask to be moved to a booth instead of the small table in the corner. Not sure why the hostess chose to put us there. But overall, no complaints. The manager on duty was very accommodating when we asked to move. I have visited here often and normally we have no issues at all

10/10 recommend !!! Best experience in town. Food amazinggggggg. The drinks worth it (Margaritas Flights). Definitely recommend Emmanuel’s as your server. Her personality and recommendations made the experience ten times better. Can’t remember the GM or Manager on site last night but he constantly came out to check on us for quality assurance.

Got great food and great service! I would definitely return! I got the taco combo plate and all four tacos were delicious. So was the rice. We started out with chips and queso, which costs extra. The queso was fantastic! Only minor detraction would be the margarita. Very sweet and seemed to have very little tequila in it. Define returning, rather than a mixed drink I would probably go with a beer. Other than that, highly recommended!

The food here is AMAZING. Their salsa is second-to-none. Heavy on the chipotle. Slightly different from other Tex-Mex restaurants. No unlimited chips/salsa…a testament to how good the salsa is. It is a little pricey, but worth every penny. My only strike is sometimes the wait can be a bit long, even if it’s not crowded, but even that is not too bad. Go here! It sits right across from Protective Stadium so great for a pre-game meal.

They arrived right on time, handled everything seamlessly, and made the entire process completely stress-free.
The food was outstanding—guests are still talking about it, especially the candied bacon crostini, which was an absolute show-stopper. Perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and dangerously addictive. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
If you’re considering catering for an event and want amazing food paired with top-tier service, Uptown Cantina is the way to go. I would 100% use them again and recommend them without hesitation.

Food was decent but not for the price. We went at 2 PM and they seemed very disorganized. They forgot our appetizer, didn’t refill our drinks until the end of the meal, and then my daughter’s chicken tenders came out 15 minutes after the rest of the table got our food. When I asked to see if the manager could give us a small discount since there were so many problems, they refused (didn’t even come to the table to apologize). Will never return.

Me and two of my friends came we are from Virginia staying at the hotel close to there and the food is amazing. The waitresses were amazing and everything was just amazing about this restaurant. I’m here for about six days and I will be back again in the next day or two, love this restaurant and the atmosphere.

Uptown Cantina is hands down one of my favorite spots in Birmingham. I eat here at least once a week and it never disappoints. The steak Caesar salad is incredible, and the rolled tacos appetizer is to die for. I order them almost every time.
