Was looking for a place to eat while staying nearby and came across this place. Walking in, it seemed a bit more like a bar than a café, but after being greeted and sat down, I felt better about it. Our server was very sweet and kind to us and made our experience all the best. The food was pretty solid – I had the shrimp tacos and they were very good, but the mango salsa was a little bit spicy. They also had an array of either homemade or locally sourced desserts to choose from! I would definitely return if I was in town again.

This was the first restaurant we went to in our trip in Astoria! We had just come from the airport and it was about 8:20ish, right before closing time, but they were very welcoming and let us come in. I had the supreme burger with the mushrooms, bacon, and Swiss cheese. The burger was very yummy, and the mayo/aioli was good, and added a nice flavor. Lots of avocado which was refreshing! Fries were good, could be a wee bit better with some seasoning, but the crispiness was good. The atmosphere was nice, for me it was too dimly lit, but it was pretty nice and quiet, and the tables were spread out well with lots of space between each one. Overall pretty good and a nice start to our trip!

After a day of walking the beach we found this absolutely perfect place to enjoy a GREAT meal with a cozy atmosphere, friendly service by Annie and Michelle and really tasty food served up quickly. Very reasonable prices too. There was nice decor, and we enjoyed the eclectic holiday music during our quiet conversation with no difficulty hearing each other. Their house-made ketchup was so tasty I decided to buy a couple bottles for gifts. It was such a pleasant place to end a perfect afternoon! Thank you so much to the Uptown Cafe chef and wait staff.

Went for breakfast, it was fantastic, cooked to perfection, excellent selection, delivered quick and with friendly service. Had a meat lovers omelet, my spouse had banana bread French toast, and it was very scrumptious . This is a definite recommended must go too. Looking forward to the next time I’m in town.

My go-to for breakfast. Also solid for lunch and dinner. Super friendly, good happy-hour menu, really patient with dietary needs and restrictions. Give PnP a miss and go here instead!
Edit: I can’t leave more than one review, but I keep coming back! Consistently great, Uptown has become my regular haunt. I wish I could give them more stars!

Our visit to this restaurant left a lot to be desired. Upon entry, the first thing you’ll notice is that the majority of people here are older and elderly. We were seated and given menus like any other restaurant. My fiance ordered the sausage biscuits with gravy, and we each got Italian sodas.

The food didn’t taste fresh, it tasted like it had been frozen. And the gravy tasted cheap, like it was canned. The chef who made our drinks didn’t know what cream soda was, and served us our drinks overfilled and unstirred. When served, he made it a point to apologise for not stirring the sodas, told us to do it ourselves, and gave caution to the soda being easy to spill if stirred — in which it did.

When paying and leaving, the staff asked us about our meal. We just wanted to pay and leave, but we were honest and we said it was mid. The staff became confrontational with us, including the waitress who complained about “Well, now I’m not going to be tipped”. I guess she must’ve forgot that tips are for good service.

If you’re looking for a TV dinner meal at a restaurant experience with staff that blindly expect tips from you, then come here. But otherwise, you’re gonna have to look elsewhere for a decent meal.

Very nice interior decor and vibe. The outside looks a bit bland and it’s in a strip mall plaza so I was pleasantly surprised with the interior design and feel. I sat outdoors on the patio as it was a nice day. Small patio but very cozy. Service was slow (they were pretty busy) and not very warm. But, my food arrived correctly and it was delicious so I’ll be back! I really wanted to try breakfast but they only serve breakfast until 11am so I had to have the Monte Cristo. Unique texture to their French toast but really well flavored. I enjoyed the jam and the tots had the perfect crunch. Decent prices to.

We wanted to try this place out for some time. Walked in and we were seated promptly. We both ordered breakfast. When our orders came out, they were both wrong. Our server Gus, promptly made it right. He went back to the kitchen and reordered our meals. When we got the bill, he had discounted our order. Our breakfast was good.

First and foremost our waitress, Michelle was phenomenal. So friendly and attentive despite how busy she was. Loved the food and the hardy portions. We had the Taco salad, Grilled cheese sandwich and chicken strips for the kiddos. Would definitely return next time we’re in town.

A very quaint little spot tucked into a short mall. They make special coffees that I did not try but looked amazing! Jennifer was our server, and she was very polite. She was not the type that hovers but was attentive. We sat in the bar area that was well lit and well stocked. The meal was outstanding!! The location is perfect for a great lunch, (the Swiss fondue was to die for!), and then enjoy shopping!!
